mode. Zen mode is a state of super focus with very minimal distraction, where you pursue your
goals with clarity and confidence, regardless of what others think or say.

Tip 1: Be willing to take some punches.
One of the challenges of having a vision is that you will face resistance and criticism from people
who don’t understand or support your dreams. This can be very hurtful and discouraging, especially
if it comes from people who are close to you, such as your parents or friends.
However, if you truly believe in your vision and have everything nailed down, you have to be willing to
take some punches and not let them get to your head. You have to remember that your vision is
yours, not theirs, and that only you can make it happen.
You also must be compassionate and understanding towards the people who criticize you. You
must realize that they are not necessarily malicious or jealous, but rather they are genuine or
ingenuine.
Genuine people are those who care about you and want the best for you, but they may not know any
better or they may have different expectations or values than you. They may criticize you out of love
or concern, but they may also be misguided or misinformed.
Ingenuine people are those who are unable or unwilling to imagine you succeeding or achieving your
vision. They may criticize you out of envy or insecurity, but they may also be ignorant or indifferent.
You must assess every person you really care about and determine whether they are genuine or
ingenuine. You don’t have to cut contact with anyone, but you must be aware of their intentions and
motivations. You have to listen to their feedback, but not let it affect your self-esteem or your
determination.
