Reasons to Use Videos 
• To increase the amount of Chinese input 
(linguistic and cultural); 
• To engage students with the animated and 
visually-attractive content of videos; 
• To teach more than just Chinese 
language, such as life lessons (e.g., 
resilience, caring, inclusiveness, 
etc.).

1. To introduce vocabulary and grammar.
