• Favorite Foods are: Conch chowder, rock
lobster , and mostly seafood.
• Main ingredient they use in most food is
coconut. Popular spices are mostly spicy
therefore, they eat lots of spicy foods.
4. Music
• Calypso- is a style of Afro-Caribbean music
which originated in Trinidad and Tobago. This
form of music has spread through many parts
of the Caribbean, including the Bahamas.
• Soca-is a form of dance music which
originated from many calypso music

• Unemployment rate: 7.6%
• Literacy rate 95.6 .
• Before, their healthcare was really bad most
patients had to get treated at home. Now,
their healthcare is better.

• Lots of touring/cruises in the Bahamas.
• Major resorts are British Colonial Hilton
Nassau and Nassau Junkanoo Resort.
• The Bahamas is a stable, developing nation
with an economy heavily dependent on
tourism and offshore banking.
• GDP growth in recent years is from steady
growth in tourism, and more construction of
new hotels, resorts, and residences
