The Natural Steps in Moving Towards a 4-Day Work Week

5 Days of Income in 4 Days
Most people I speak with tell me they give their best
effort somewhere between 50 to 60% of the time.
(I get almost the identical answers from employers and employees).
Top performers confess that even THEY usually don’t do
their best more than 80% of the time.
That means at least 20% of the time, we might get
almost no results even though we’re working.
80% Focus or Less Most of the Time
If you’re currently working 5 days a week, you could
probably get the same results in 4 days of work by
focusing completely on your work during those 4 days.
An equation for this could look like this…
5 DAYS of WORK x 80% FOCUS = 4 DAYS of RESULTS
Wouldn’t you rather live this?
4 DAYS of WORK x 100% FOCUS = 4 DAYS of RESULTS
(Fridays Off)
5 Days of 80% Focus or 4 Days at 100%
The only question that remains is whether or not you
have PERMISSION to work 4 days instead of 5.
If you’re employed by someone else, you might not
have this permission… YET!
If you work “for yourself”, it might be only you
preventing your 4-day work week lifestyle.

business owner or employee…
there are steps you can take to move more
towards a 4-Day Work Week lifestyle.
It Might Take Months or Years
Depending where you are with your career,
it might more or less time.
But there are certain fundamental pieces
that need to be implemented.
Steady & Solid Growth Beats Quick Unstable Gains
In order to get to anything in life,
we can try to make huge jumps,
but we might be likely to fail
if we take too big of a jump too quickly.

If we take a steady path
based on fundamentals,
It might take a little longer to get there,
but we're much more likely to succeed.
4 Milestone Roles / Stages to Get There
There are 4 critical roles you must master
to create & maintain a 4 day lifestyle.
STEP 1 - The 4-Day Work Week APPRENTICE
1. APPRENTICE
Apprentice
Step 1 is to be an APPRENTICE - somebody who works for
someone else (or themselves) and focuses on:
 Establishing the habits that support a 4-Day Work Week.
 Managing their money & time like a 4-Day Entrepreneur.
 Investing in relationships and material possessions that
support a 4-Day lifestyle.
4-Day Work Week APPRENTICE Focus
If you're given small amounts of money in life,
and you mismanage those,
when you get larger amounts of money,
you'll probably mismanage those.
4-Day APPRENTICE Wisdom - MONEY
4-Day APPRENTICE Wisdom - TIME
If you have small amounts of free time available,
and you waste those moments...
likely do the same with larger amounts of time.
STEP 2 - The 4-Day WORKER
1. APPRENTICE
2. WORKER
Apprentice
4-Day WORKER Focus
Step 2 is the 4-Day WORKER, a person who aims to
achieve 5 days’ worth of results in 4 days.
This person seeks to be paid for results so their income is
tied to their performance rather than hours worked.
(For example, a heavily commissioned sales person).
4-Day WORKER Mindset
If I can get high level results, in a small amount of time,
I can make more money
(possibly enough that I only need to work 4 days to earn
enough to live my desired lifestyle).
STEP 3 - The 4-Day ENTREPRENEUR
1. APPRENTICE
2. WORKER
3. ENTREPRENEUR
Apprentice
Step 3 is to eventually move out on your own.
The 4-Day ENTREPRENEUR creates their own destiny.
The following questions concern this person:
What are the best opportunities for me?
How do I maximize my hourly and annual income?

The focus is to get clear about how to get results in a
smaller amount of time so it’s possible to make my

  • 2. If you could make the same income… work the same hours each day… Only work 4 days per week instead of 5… And have Fridays off… How willing would you be to try something new to make it happen? 5 Days of Income in 4 Days
  • 3. Most people I speak with tell me they give their best effort somewhere between 50 to 60% of the time. (I get almost the identical answers from employers and employees). Top performers confess that even THEY usually don’t do their best more than 80% of the time. That means at least 20% of the time, we might get almost no results even though we’re working. 80% Focus or Less Most of the Time
  • 4. If you’re currently working 5 days a week, you could probably get the same results in 4 days of work by focusing completely on your work during those 4 days. An equation for this could look like this… 5 DAYS of WORK x 80% FOCUS = 4 DAYS of RESULTS Wouldn’t you rather live this? 4 DAYS of WORK x 100% FOCUS = 4 DAYS of RESULTS (Fridays Off) 5 Days of 80% Focus or 4 Days at 100%
  • 5. The only question that remains is whether or not you have PERMISSION to work 4 days instead of 5. If you’re employed by someone else, you might not have this permission… YET!
