41.6% over 308 surveyed people (have children under 10 years old) send their children to extra classes,
especially "Major subjects and English". This starts rather early when their children are aged from 5 - 6 years
old, account for 49.2%. Average fees for extra classes is from 500,000 - 1,000,000 VND / month which equals
to 32.0% of the surveyed people.
Similarly, computer usage of children is allowed by their parents very early which is rather popular in
Vietnamese families. Over 85 of each 100 surveyed people encourage their children to use computers from 4 -
5 years old of 6 - 7 years old.
University is a 'gate' which most parents hope their children can reach it in the future and 35% of parents gives
their children decision power of future career path. However, there are still some parents who expect their
children to choose some specific careers such as Doctor / Nurse / Pharmacist (22.7%) or employees of Banking
/ Finance / Economic.
Most parents want their children to be fluent at popular second languages such as English (93.8%), Chinese
(49.0%) and Japanese (47.7%).
With modern life, most parents take less time talking to their children which is from 1 - 2 hours per day,
account for 34.9%. In details, 'Mommy' usually spends much time for talking to their children more than
Regarding to 'getting married' matter, 52% of the surveyed people agree that 28 - 30 years old is the best time
for their children. However, there is still 39.8% who encourages their children to get married sooner which is
from 25 - 27 years old. After getting married, most parents let their children choose if they want to live with
parents or not.

41.6% of the surveyed parents said that their children were sent to extra classes. However, there is over 50%
who does not want children to go to extra classes especially for children aged under 6 years old (82.2%).
For parents who send their children to extra classes, the most suitable age is from 5 - 6 years old, account for
49.2%. This statistic result is also applied for Hanoi, HCMC and other provinces.

Based on the survey result, there is 85.4% buying computer for children. This percentage is rather
homogeneous among cities and provinces.
Most of the surveyed parents allow their children to use computer at early age which is from 4 - 5 years old or
6 - 7 years old.

Most parents expect their children to gain high education level in the future, typically 'above bachelor' with
74.0%. When comparing among cities and provinces, it is clear to state that Hanoi members concern about
'above bachelor' more than HCMC and other provinces.
35.1% of the surveyed parents lets their children decide future career path. The rest expect their children to
develop career path as 'Doctor / nurse / pharmacist' (22.7%), 'Banking / Finance / Economic' (9.7%), and
'Teacher / Lecturer / Professor' (6.2%).

those parents, suitable age for getting married is from 25 - 27 years old or 28 - 30 years old.
