You can write the task in the task name
Or
You can copy and paste from Ms word or ms excel
The default start date is the same as the project start date.
Here after you can insert the appropriate time duration for
each task

You are also supposed to determine the starting
and ending time of each task under the column
START and FINISH columns respectively.

How to link the task ?
Select the all the tasks (under task name) and then
click “link task- ”
Or
in the menu bar (or ctrl+f2), automatically tasks will
link each other in the rule of finish to start principle

How to create a summary task?
Step 1. Highlight sub tasks of a particular task
Step 2 . Click indent ( from tool bar),
Step 3. repeat step 2 for all tasks and subtasks
as necessary

After you create a new project management you are
expected to perform two main things before you start
anything in your project.
1. Determine when the project will start and end.
You are also required to set the “schedule
from”- Project start date or Project finish date

Base calendar consists of:
• 24 hours (12:00 am -12:00 am, mostly
applicable in factories)
• Standard: (8:00am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-
5:00pm: Monday to Friday as working day,
Saturday and Sunday as nonworking day)
• Night shift (12:00 am-3:00am, 4:00am-
8:00am, 11:00pm-12:00am)

Steps to create a new calendar
• Step1. Click tools from menu bar (alt+T)
• Step2. Click changing working time, then you
will get the following screen
• Step3. Click create new calendar from the
displayed screen, then you will get:

Step1. Click work weeks tab from the change
working time screen

To modify work weeks of a calendar
Step3. In the above screen you have three main option radio
buttons (1, 2, and 3), Use
option one if you don’t make any kind of change to the default base
calendar
option two if you only need to set days to nonworking time
option three if you need the new calendar to customize as per your need
(use it here)
Step 4. Make necessary modifications days from Sunday to
Saturday and their respective working time.
Step5. Click OK

Exceptions:
• MS project has special feature which can help
you to create a calendar as per your project
plan.
• This tab will help you to create exception days
of a week, month, a year; it can be also a day.
For example New Year, mayday, or company
holiday etc……….

name field and determine the start and end date
