2. About the
Department
The Department was founded in 1992. It
is the oldest department of economic
profile in the Kirov region.
Now there are more than 500
specialists, bachelors, masters and
postgraduate students.
The department has more than 3,000
graduates, which are successful in
business and scientific careers, realizing
their full potential, both in Russia and
around the world.

Every year lecturers of the Department

scientific articles in the collections of
international and national conferences,
organized by leading national universities.

Achievements
In 2005 Department members have
completed research project “Development
of methodological implementation of
measures for improving investment system
and conditions of the Kirov region budget
revenue base development, (Customer -
"Institute of Public Finance Reform", Moscow).
These materials have been implemented by
the executive authorities of the Kirov region
while realizing the federal program for Public
Finance Reform.

In 2007 Department members have
completed 2 research works:
- «Relevance study of bringing new
technologies into the Kirov region
economy, the formation of a unified
approach to innovative activities
development»,
- «Development of monitoring and
evaluation system of innovation activities
in the Kirov region»,
These materials have been implemented by
the executive authorities of the Kirov region
while designing socio-economic
development strategy of the Kirov region by
2020, and preparation of draft laws on the
development of innovation in the sphere of
the Kirov region.

In 2005 - 2007 Department members have
completed 2 research works:
- «Improving the efficiency of contests
organization for the provision of state
support to the subjects of investment
activity»,
- «Factors of enterprises and organizations
satisfaction with state support measures of
investment activity conducted by the Kirov
region Government»,
These materials have been implemented by
the executive authorities of the Kirov region
while improving the system of state support of
investment activity in the Kirov region.

In 2009 Department members have
completed 1 applied scientific development:
- «Development and economic evaluation
of the investment project of sports and
recreation center building»,
These materials have been implemented by
the executive authorities of
Verkhoshizhemskiy district of the Kirov region.

In 2009 - 2010 Department members have
completed 3 research works:
- «The study of the transport mobility of
students and passenger traffic on concrete
routes of urban passenger transport»,
- «The development of strategic directions of
the route network of urban public transport»,
- «The study of the transport mobility of certain
groups of Kirov population for evaluation with
social standards compliance»,
These materials have been implemented by
the executive authorities of the Kirov region.
