Dplyr Installation Instructions
1. Dyplr Installation Instructions in R
This method usually works best.
Via Rstudio:
install.packages(“dplyr")
library(dplyr)
If the above method has not worked try installing from GitHub as an alternative. Type the command below
directly in RStudio.
Via Github:
if (packageVersion("devtools") < 1.6) {
install.packages("devtools")
}
devtools::install_github("hadley/lazyeval")
devtools::install_github("hadley/dplyr")
If the methods above did not work you can install via CRAN. When it comes to CRAN there are different
instructions based on the operating system that you use.
Via CRAN:
Ubuntu:
Type the following command in the terminal:
sudo apt-get update -y
sudo apt-get install -y r-cran-dplyr
Mac:
Type the following command in the terminal:
1) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/el-capitan/contrib/
3.6/dplyr_0.8.3.tgz"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "mac.binary"), method, available = NULL,
destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
2) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/macosx/el-capitan/
contrib/3.5/dplyr_0.8.3.tgz"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "mac.binary"), method, available =
NULL, destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
2. Windows:
Type the following command in the terminal:
1) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/4.0/
dplyr_0.8.3.zip"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "windows.binary"), method, available = NULL,
destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
2) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/r-devel-
gcc8/dplyr_0.8.3.zip"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "windows.binary"), method, available =
NULL, destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
3) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/3.6/
dplyr_0.8.3.zip"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "windows.binary"), method, available = NULL,
destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
4) install.binaries(reshape2, lib, CRAN = getOption("https://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/3.5/
dplyr_0.8.3.zip"), contriburl = contrib.url(CRAN, type = "windows.binary"), method, available = NULL,
destdir = NULL, installWithVers = FALSE)
