2. What is F1?
F1 ( Formula One) is the highest class of
single- seater auto racing league by FIA.
The F1 season consists of a series of
races, known as GP, all over the world
purpose- built circuits and public roads.
The results of each race are evaluated
using a point system to determine two
annual World Championships.
4. Scottish drivers
Throughout the 63 years, there has been
15 Scottish F1 Drivers.
Over the years there has been two
Scottish drivers who have won the World
Championships.
In 2013 F1 season, there is only one
Scottish driver, Paul di Resta.
5. Jim Clark
James Clark Junior was born on March 4,
1936.
He grew up in Berwickshire Scotland.
He started to compete in local rallies in
1956.
His first F1 GP was in 1960, Dutch Grand
Prix.
6. Jim Clark
He raced 73 races through the 8 years of
racing for Lotus.
He was the firts Scottish driver to win the
F1 World Champions ships and he did it
twice: in 1963 and 1965.
He won 25 F1 Grand Prix through his
career.

On 7 April 1968, Clark died in a racing
accident at the Hockenheimring, in
Germany.
8. Jackie Stewart
John Young 'Jackie' Stewart was born in
Dumbartonshire, Scotland, on June 11,
1939.
He competed in Formula One between
1965 and 1973.
His firts F1 race was in 1965 South African
Grand Prix.

Over his career he took part in 100 races
which he won 27 of.
He is the only Scottis driver to ever win 3
World Championships: in 1969, 1971 and
1973.
Stewart became an international celebrity
thanks to his trademark black cap and
rockstar haircut.
