The current IT infrastructure as well as various commercial applications are directly formulated based on deployment in multimedia system e.g. education, marketing, risk management, tele-medicines, military etc. One of the challenges found in using such application is to deliver uninterrupted stream of video between multiple terminals e.g. smart-phone, PDAs, laptops, IPTV etc. The research shows that there is a stipulated need of designing novel mechanism of bit rate adjustment as well as format conversion policy so that the source stream may stream well in diverse end devices with multiple configuration of processor, memory, decoding etc. This paper discusses various eminent points from literature that will throw better highlights in understanding a schema of direct digital-to-digital data conversion of one encoding to another termed as transcoding. Although multimedia transcoding has covered more than a decade in the area of research, but unfortunately, there is a huge trade- off between the application, service, resource constraint, and hardware design that gives rise to QoS issues.

An Overview on Multimedia Transcoding Techniques on Streaming Digital Contents

Video compression has two major issues to be handled, one is video compression rate and other one is quality. There is always a trade-off between speed and quality. Full search block matching algorithm (FSBMA) is most popular motion estimation algorithm. But high computational complexity is the major challenge of FSBM. This makes FSBM to be very difficult to use for real time video processing with the low power batteries. Other algorithm gives better speed on the expense of quality of video. The proposed algorithm i.e. modified full search block matching algorithm (MFSBMA) reduces the computational complexity by keeping the PSNR same as of FSBMA. MFSBMA skips the SAD calculations for a current background macroblock and it does SAD calculations for foreground current microblock. This method reduces SAD calculations drastically. This work presents apipelined architecture forMFSBMA which can work on real time HDTV video processing. The proposed algorithm reduces computational complexity by 50% keeping PSNR same with the full search algorithm.

The surveillance systems are expected to record the videos in 24/7 and obviously it requires a huge storage space. Even though the hard disks are cheaper today, the number of CCTV cameras is also vertically increasing in order to boost up security. The video compression techniques is the only better option to reduce required the storage space; however, the existing video compression techniques are not adequate at all for the modern digital surveillance system monitoring as they require huge video streams. In this paper, a novel video compression technique is presented with a critical analysis of the experimental results.

Distributed Video Coding (DVC) has become increasingly popular in recent times among the researchers in video coding due to its attractive and promising features. DVC primarily has a modified complexity balance between the encoder and decoder, in contrast to conventional video codecs. However, Most of the reported DVC schemes have a high time-delay in decoder which hinders its practical application in real-time systems. In this work, we focus on speed up the Side Information(SI) generation module in DVC, which is a major function in the DVC coding algorithm and one of the time-consuming factor at the decoder. By applied it through Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) based on General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU), the experimental results show that a considerable speedup can be obtained by using the proposed parallelized SI generation algorithm.

Analytical, prototyping, model-based systems engineering and custom discrete-event model development of automotive networks are inaccurate, expensive, and takes too long to do detailed routing analysis, Quality-of-Service (QoS) trade-off, and bandwidth exploration. To capture the nuances of QoS, scheduling, buffer management, and network topologies, these solutions require a considerable amount of time, costs, and customization. To achieve the reliability of wiring harness, the latency and bandwidth measurements of automotive networks must be accurate, tested for failure conditions, and simulated for security breaches, traffic spikes, and translations.

n this paper, to detect the moving objects between frames in compressed video and to obtain the bes t compression video and the noiseless video. We describe a video in which frames by classifying macroblocks (MB), and describe motion estimation (ME), motion vector field (MV) and motion compensation (MC). we propose to classify Macroblocks of each video frame into different classes and use this class information to describe the frame content based on the motion vector. MB class informatio n video applications such as shot change detection, motion discontinuity detection, Outlier rejection for global motion estimation. To reduc e the noise and to improve the clarity of the compressed video by using contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization (CLAHE) Algorithm.

The growing trend of online image sharing and downloads today mandate the need for better encoding and decoding scheme. This paper looks into this issue of image coding. Multiple Description Coding is an encoding and decoding scheme that is specially designed in providing more error resilience for data transmission. The main issue of Multiple Description Coding is the lossy transmission channels. This work attempts to address the issue of re-constructing high quality image with the use of just one descriptor rather than the conventional descriptor. This work compare the use of Type I quantizer and Type II quantizer. We propose and compare 4 coders by examining the quality of re-constructed images. The 4 coders are namely JPEG HH (Horizontal Pixel Interleaving with Huffman Coding) model, JPEG HA (Horizontal Pixel Interleaving with Arithmetic Encoding) model, JPEG VH (Vertical Pixel Interleaving with Huffman Encoding) model, and JPEG VA (Vertical Pixel Interleaving with Arithmetic Encoding) model. The findings suggest that the use of horizontal and vertical pixel interleavings do not affect the results much. Whereas the choice of quantizer greatly affect its performance.
