Cyberbullying involves tormenting, threatening, harassing, embarrassing, stalking, denigrating, impersonating or excluding someone online. Common triggers for cyberbullying include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, sleep deprivation, substance abuse, loneliness and eating disorders, which can sometimes lead to suicide. Girls are more likely than boys to be cyberbullied based on their nationality, race, appearance, behavior, sexual orientation or religion. Victims of cyberbullying are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide compared to non-victims.
