3. 1) First off, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello, my name is Vanderlei Sbaraini Amancio. I am 26 years old
and known as Harry by friends. I live in Joinville in southern
Brazil. Joinville is the largest city in the state of Santa
Catarina. I'm in college, studying to get my bachelor degree
in software engineering and I’m married to a beautiful
woman and father of a beautiful baby girl.
I was introduced to C language when I was about 13 years old. I
read the Windows development guide and I used to be
happy with any 'Hello World' on the screen!

4. Soon my mind turned to game development and because of that
I started using GIMP (an image editor) and I also began to
program in GML (GameMaker Language). After creating many
simple games (and unfortunately deleting them) my first job
was in a large metallurgical company. Five years passed and I
decided to start working on video productions, mainly in After
Effects. About three years ago I resumed studying
programming. The marvelous world of web development!
Sometime my freiend Mauricio Bueno invited me to work with
him. Bueno works in print design and he was in need of
someone to develop the sites that he would design.

5. We had worked together for about one year when I had a job
interview and did some tests for a mid-developer job vacancy
in the educational institution Bom Jesus IELUSC which
educates kids from kindergarten to graduate school. I am
part of the IT team and responsible for the development of
the intranet and website. Now in 2015, I'm working on
developing mobile applications and API to integrate and
improve the communication and relationships between the
institution, students and it´s parents. Currently I am using
PHP, MySQL, Oracle and frontend languages (Js, Html, css /
less). Iam also introducing NodeJS for API and cross platform
development.

6. Besides that I can be hired to motion design, video edit, print
design and for illustration. I have lots of experience in After
Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and I am also
proficient in Sonar and FLStudio. Currently I'm making
motion graphics for a local TV show and I actually have even
produced a music album for a local pianist!
My motto is: art, code and coffee!

8. 3) What was your inspiration and when did you actually decide
to become a freelancer?
Actually I am a newbie freelancer. In fact, I am working as part of
an IT team of a school institution. We are a small team, but we
are good at what we do. I'm starting to freelance on the side
and my motivation is to improve my skills and to help
customers to achieve their goals. I find inspiration in rock n' roll
music, portfolios, Behance, Awwwards, TED and several other
blogs. There's no recipe for it! Even a rainy day can put a good
idea in our minds! I have a plethora of ideas and one or two of
them are documented on a business plan. I'm just waiting for
partners and investors! Anyone interested just contact me!

9. 4) What kind of services have your clients asked you to
provide?
They asked me to do web development (backend and frontend),
video editing, motion design, photo editing, print design and
illustration. This is it!

10. 5) Do you use other freelancers or companies to provide skills
that you don’t possess?
Sure. I think it's the right way to do the thing!
Can I do it? If I can't, I know where I can find someone to help
me with it. I only think that I have to be true to the customer
in telling him what I can do and what I can't.

11. 6) Now tell us, how do you find new clients that are interested
in your services?
I started to look on freelance websites, mainly at first on
Brazilian sites who publish offers. But Brazilian customers
don't want to pay the amount that our work is worth. This is
why to gather my future customers I'm launching my own
site where I'll post my recent and future jobs.
I have plans to make lesson videos in a short time and I've
started developing an open sourced AngularJSbased content
management system which will let the developer choose any
backend.

12. 7) What about freelancermap.com? Can you tell us a little bit
about your experience with our IT-network?
I found freelancermap via LinkedIn and thanks to Doreen
Schollmeier’s profile. As said before, I’m new on
freelancermap.com, but it looks very amazing. I'm sure it’s
way ahead of other freelance hiring sites.

13. 8) How do you set yourself apart from your competitors?
What makes you special?
I talk to the customer. I provide ideas and understand what the
customer wants and I do it in an agile way. All facets of art
inspire me, so I'm sure I can help my clients. In addition I
deliver customers what I promised them. I want them to feel
satisfied so they will hire me again.

14. 9) What are the top three books, blogs or magazines you read
to stay up to date in the IT-market?
Only three? It will be hard to name just three! Smashing
Magazine, A List Apart, ShopTalk...
Hey wait! There's Google! Haha…

15. 10) Freestyle! Is there anything you would like to tell our
readers?
I have plans to live in North America or Australia or even in
Europe.
My English is good. So if someone needs an obsessed
programmer I'm available ;).
Finally, I believe that the IT professionals should never feel
satisfied with their own professional level. Everything is
constantly changing, so we must evolve as well.
