Assistant Engineer – A1/D32 Assessor
This role has allowed me to work alongside all TDU Engineers, assisting them to set up
Dumpy Levels for accurate readings, transfer T.B.M’s and Datums, and the use of Total
Stations.
Assisting Engineer’s carrying out dilapidation surveys; this also includes measuring cant and
gauge measurements of the track, with all gauges that includes Multi Purpose, Off Set,
Geishmar and Abtus gauge. Assisted Engineer’s carrying out sleeper inspections which in-tales
measuring ends of sleepers, and packing of the chairs.
I am currently working alongside an Engineer as his assistant in the designing of Re Rail sites,
this includes measuring and designing, also keeping in mind all features that might affect
the area of design, track joints, train stop, block joints, IBJ’s, flash buts, welds etc.

Protection Manager
Managing and develop the Protection Section and support for the Protection Team. To
ensure that all Protection Masters comply with London Underground’s Health & Safety
Policies.
To ensure al Protection Master’s certification is up to date and that all Protection Master’s
have a valid Drug’s & Alcohol and medical.
Responsible for delivering statements to the Line Manager if any issues arise during the
night shift, and to make sure that the situation was handled in the appropriate manner.

2. Conducts meetings with the Line Manager to make sure all staff complies with the rules of
London Underground and the Company. Overseeing the management reports of scope
changes for all 6 week rolling programmes and ensuring the relevant baselines are managed
accordingly. This ensures the programmes are accurate and reflect the correct scope of
Protection Master’s that is available for the works and it’s an accurate forecast cost.
Chairs and conduct meetings with the Protection Master’s on a weekly basis to get any
issues resolved as soon as possible.
Chairs and conduct meetings with the Line Manager on a weekly basis to flag up any
problems and to plan any other works that may arise on a daily basis.
Responsible for the successful delivery of a contract on the Jubilee and Metropolitan Line
Project, including defining Project scope, handover and completion.
Liaising with the Construction Design Management Co-ordination (CDM-C) and design team
to ensure the CDMC regulations are met.
Responsible for procedural Paperwork; Compilation of Method Statements, Hot Works
Permits, Permits to Dig, Noise Control.
For ensuring that LUL Standards, Health & Safety requirements are taken into consideration
during planning and implementation of works for new track construction, replacement,
adjustment and reconditioning.
My appreciation for the LUL infrastructure is of great value as I worked on LUL not only as a
Protection Master/Protection Manager but had to work physically in gangs as a plate layer. I
had to S.P.I.C several ETR’s and Possessions, made sure all the machines came in on time for
the ETR’s and exactly where to store them with the relevant storage licenses. I have
extensive knowledge of Re Railing, Recon, and Stressing etc. I have also worked in numerous
Tunnel Possessions as a platelayer.
