Police Officers By Sathyam Patel
The Police The Police work in the community and help to prevent crime and enforce the law. Police also teach the community about crime and what they can do to help stop it.
Police Car Officers use police cars for many things: to patrol ,to chase suspects, to store their gear, to restrain criminals and even as communications links. Some specialized police vehicles do even more than that.
Equipment Police have equipment they use to do their job. This may include bulletproof vests, mobile phones, radios and guns.
Steps To Becoming a Police Offer Step 1: Graduate from High School Step 2: Complete College-Level Training Step 3: Attend Police Academy Step 4: Pass All Applicable Examinations Step 5: Earn a Promotion
Requirements Many law enforcement agencies require that new applicants have completed at least 2 years of college, although some departments require only a high school diploma and a clear criminal record. FBI agents must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, information technology, electrical engineering or another discipline, depending on their intended specialty, while U.S. Secret Service agents must possess a bachelor's degree and 3 years of work experience in a similar field.
The Job The job is not as fun as it seems to be on TV. You must be brave, and be willing to risk your life at times. You must work hard to help protect your community.
