University of Central Panjab
To establish a university with a reputation for excellence
in both teaching and research. To provide high-quality
education resulting in research employment and entrepreneurial
endeavours that benefit society and the entire planet.
Universities are designed to foster innovative thinking both within and outside
of the classroom. The University of Central Punjab started the Ideas Conclave in
2020 to accomplish this goal. Through a series of discussions, workshops, and
roundtables, the initiative intends to act as a bridge between prominent writers,
academics, academicians, and experienced professionals in order to broaden our
students' awareness of the complicated issues facing us today. As we intend to
organise sessions that are also in line with students' university curricula, this
platform will also seek to act as a learning tool for students. Ideas Conclave plans to
discuss topics including intercontinental history, south Asian fiction, and the
emergence of new alliances during our sessions.
How to Apply
Twice a year, in the Fall and
Spring semesters, the University of
Central Punjab issues an invitation to
submit an application for admission.
Only the Fall semester is open for
admission to the faculties of
engineering, pharmacy, and law.
To apply to The University of Central Punjab, kindly follow these steps:
Step 1: To learn more about our various programs, visit the campus or our official
website, ucp.edu.pk.
Step 2: After deciding on the programme, interested students can apply by
completing the online form available at admissions.ucp.edu.pk. The application
processing fees can be paid online or through bank transfer, alternatively payment
can also be made at the Admissions Office.
Step 3: Admission forms can be submitted online through UCP Online Admission
Portal.
Rules and Regulations
Admission eligibility Criteria
A minimum of 45% marks is required for applicants to undergraduate
programmes who have completed Intermediate/A-Levels or an equivalent. For
undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programmes, the minimum need is 60%,
while for admission to BS programmes in computer science, software engineering,
and data sciences, the minimum requirement is 50%.
For those who have completed a 16-year bachelor's degree, the minimum
requirement for admission to MS/MPhil programmes is at least a 2.00 CGPA out of
4.00 or 50% marks on an annual scale. The minimal requirement for PhD admission
is an 18-year Master's degree in a related field with a CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or 60% on
an annual scale.
Equivalency of Courses & Transfer of Credits
The decision to transfer credits is made at the time of enrollment and is based
on the individual courses. Before the start of classes, students who are applying for
admission with advanced standing must submit all of their previous academic
records in authentic form to the admissions department. The following requirements
must be met for the University to accept credits from other institutions:
Transfer credits must originate from a regionally accredited institution that is also
HEC-approved.
The transfer course must be comparable to a UCP course in terms of content and
scope or must meet the same competency standards as a course of a like nature
offered at UCP.
Only courses and credits with grades of "C+" or above and "B-" or higher for
undergraduate work will be taken into consideration for transfer.
Process of Registration
The concerned Dean's Office assigns the students' courses when they are admitted
for the first semester. However, in all succeeding semesters, students must register
for courses strictly in accordance with their roadmaps after checking with their
advisors. Students must register themselves at the days that are given for registration
well in advance. The University uses a precondition-based registration system, and
the portal will only permit a student to register for a course if they have already
satisfied all of the prerequisite requirements, as established by the Department.
Before they are fully registered, students must pay the required fees for the chosen
courses. Current students have until the start of school to make changes to their
registration. No student may make a change.

Research Overview
An instrument for knowledge creation and learning facilitation is research. It
is essential to making universities globally competitive. Universities can study
societal and organizational problems to find or propose answers thanks to high-
quality research. It makes it possible for the educational sector to carry out
systematic analysis while continuously enhancing our methods, which leads to the
development of sophisticated knowledge pertaining to teaching and learning.
The Directorate of Research at the University of Central Punjab works under the
Pro-Rector with the goal of strengthening and supporting the research culture in the
institution. The Directorate of Research's primary responsibility is to design, develop,
administer, and oversee the research process in order to create a stimulating research
environment at UCP where faculty members can establish their reputations and
careers on impactful and commercially relevant research.
