The UNIQUE Threaded Fire Stop Sleeve is used for new cable installations through a cinder block, cement or masonry firewall or floor.

2. UNIQUE Threaded Firestop Sleeve
System is designed for new cable
installations where the hole through
the firewall or floor is core bored or
precut.

3. The Threaded Firestop Sleeve is
constructed of rigid steel tubing that
is threaded on both ends and made of
(IMC) Intermediate Metal Conduit.

4. The system includes:
1 – 12″ threaded IMC sleeve
2 – large flat washers
2 – threaded couplings
2 – plenum rated bushings
2 – documentation/warning labels
1 – A package of UNIQUE Intumescent Putty

5. Threaded Firestop Sleeves come in
4” inches, 2”, and 1" diameters.

6. INSTALLATION PICTORIAL

7. A 4 inch System will require a 4 & 1/2 inch hole
minimum! Most people should drill a 5 inch
hole for the 4 inch Threaded Sleeve.
Pre-drill the hole in
advance. BE SURE to
drill the hole to the
outside diameter
(O.D.) of the System
you will be using.

8. Remove the documentation warning label.

9. Disassemble one side of the System.
Adjust the
coupling, washer
and bushing so
that the sleeve will
protrude evenly on
both sides when
installed.

10. Feed the System into the hole you have pre-
drilled. Go below and install the other half of
the hardware.

11. The vertical
application of the
Threaded Sleeve
requires the sleeve
to be packed (3 inch
depth) with mineral
wool batt insulation.
This keeps gravity from having any effect on
the intumescent putty.

12. If used horizontally, this system needs
no wool batt.

13. When the cables
reach their
destination, install a
minimum 1/2 inch
thickness of Unique
Putty per the vertical
application.
This System used horizontally, needs a
minimum 1 inch thickness of putty.

14. Fill out and attach the documentation/warning
label.

15. Don’t forget to take a
picture of your completed
installation for future
reference.
