Trust Factory is developing standards-based security technologies using linked data and open credentials to help individuals and organizations securely manage and share their digital records and data on the web. This includes enabling creators to assert rights over their data, describing data using ontologies to improve usability, and providing private and efficient access to verified information through user-defined sharing terms and permissions. The goal is to empower data owners to control how their data is used while supporting effective data storage, accessibility, and applications through open standards and decentralized technologies.

OPEN STANDARDS
Safety, Security and Soverignty is important for
all citizens. Trust Factory works with customers
to build trust and accountability
systems that are designed to take
full advantage of modern Standards
and communications techniques.
We help to unleash your data potential by
enhancing support for your needs, of data.
Trust Factory
Trust Factory is supporting the development of standards based security technologies that
support legal entities with digital credentials, linked to documents that are authored using
Linked-Data Technology.
Linked-Data technology delivers a web-scale database platform that enables the transmission
and retrieval of information from across the web using structured languages otherwise known
as ontologies. This means that compatible digital resources, documents, references and linked
verified credentials can become universally available for all applications, subject to credential
permissions.
Data is the foundation of a Knowledge Economy.
Your Data is an important part of life, not just for
you, for every legal entity. Open Credentials is an
important part of the lifecycle, providing private
permissioning, transmission and access of verified
information between parties on the web.
Trust Factory works to ensure your data is
accessible to you, and that systems are developed
that support data-owners to decide how that data
is used by others whilst supporting efficient
storage, use, accessibility and useability of data
for intended recipients through extension
of credentials + linked-data technology.

Credentials Validate Life
Our Societies and Digitally Connected Communi-
ties increasingly require us to prove we know
via digital systems.
What we know, regardless of whether we made
something new, have a complaint, or have the
skills to undertake a task for an employer or a
client. Data is an increasingly important format
for verification of facts, knowhow and academic
or intellectual capacities. Whether it be an ex-
perience you need access to data to prove, or
knowledge you cannot assess without analytics

3. RDF / Linked-data provides the
means to store data, creating a
web-scale graphDB, using ontologies. Lots of
different ontologies, some XML schemas exist
that can be converted. Need a team, particular
experts dotted around the planet. They’ve got
families, Also v.busy. The identity problem is also
a big issue, how can we practice what we preach?
Credentials provides an insitutional model, so
depends on how it’s delivered. I think we’ll need
‘ip banks’, for password resets, etc. ensure
transport of data from one provider to another,
no lock-ins, so, demo the basics, help with the
data solutions, build use-cases, and feed to /
support global experts...
Is it better to set-up meetings, orset-up events? seems like only a fewpeople understand the technology, yet who reallyknows what i’ve been doing, or what the others who
kinda invented the internet, have been doing or how
it all might fit together.. Most can’t be bothered to
watch the videos + their really geek, and it’s kindascience in a way, web-science.. Maybe, see aboutusing technology to get them explaining it withlocals on stage? Meetings should result in revenue,
not brain-drain. Trust issues, equally sometimeswarranted. Build local capability, then set meetings.
Synaptic Nerve Cell theory applied to
‘online data storage’ in 2000, now everything is
going digital, so was on the right track.. It’s
important that people can store their records in a
standardised format, and W3C provides a method
do to that. Tim Berners-Lee and a bunch of
others had the same idea and built technology
called ‘linked data’, he called it ‘semantic web’
originally. The work has evolved over about 20
years. Yet, it’s not just about software, this thing
called ‘web-science’ seems important. If people
store their own data, then we need to support
How do we create online
knowledge banking infrastructure so i can
control my data and how its used. Synapses
communicate, rather than storing info every-
where, kinda the same with the web. Share links
rather than copying files, that way if i update
it, it’ll automatically be updated for others too...
and, i can track my work, and track whether
its being used by others. Also applies for
reciepts, and those call centres that record
teh conversation but don’t provide me access,
so digital reciept... identity problem though, how
can you build technology to solve that problem.
It’s
kinda pointless working on standards in the
middle of the night if some american company is
going to start delivering services that hope to
control data via US contracts. May as well go with
google, facebook or microsoft if that’s the case.
So, i’ve got to go out and work collaboratively with
others to define new business solutions that
support these new technology solutions. I’m not
sure the business geeks understand the web geeks.
Community projects can help do demos, and figure
out issues. Perhaps we can collaborate
internationally, create win/win? Alliance Agree-
ments?
Working on civics projects is a good way to test
implementations of new technology in a low-stakes,
high social-benefit manner; heritage, community
media, etc. Yet, the business systems need enor-
mous work. Gov is doing mandatory data retention,
looks like linked-data, but i’s called ‘metadata’.
Retail, banking, medical, Gov and education fields
have issues with data quality, not sure if they’re
ready for big identity projects yet. Most contracts
are “choice of law california”. Netflix delivers media
more cheaply than ABC. Telstra/AusPost are doing
‘digital postbox’, but i don’t think it’ll work. Enor-
mous number of stats not available. ABS says it’ll
take 5 years.

How can users store their own data in a means that pro-
vides any governance or resourse requirements
pursuant to the users local laws? It’s important for users
to own their data, it’s also important their supported.
Most Identity Solutions currently link to products like phones or
platforms, often based in America. If only one provider delivers
a solution, then how do you keep them honest? Who’s the
Umpire? How do we make a market based solution?
My sensor data can be used for lots of different reasons,
but i want to control how that data is being used. I’d also
really like to be able to use other peoples work respectfully,
and get copies of info stored about me, by big companies.
I work on computers and it’s difficult to get people to pay for
my work, if i could track that, it would be helpful. I also want to
make decisions based on information that’s too hard to get at
the moment. They get lots of info about me, but i find it hard to
get the information i need to make better decisions.
