An outcome where the experience of students on flexible programmes
is improved.
For the period 2010 – 2012 the UG-Flex Project will:
· Scrutinise and enhance current practice in order to deliver more effective systems and processes
to manage and communicate information on programmes and courses that sit outside of a
‘standard’ September-June, Monday-Friday, 9am-9pm pattern of delivery.
· Inform, develop and share practice on curriculum design tools and techniques.
· Seek to influence discussion and serve as a catalyst for an agreed policy on flexibility in the
curriculum and how it will be delivered and resourced, including through new and emerging
complementary University initiatives.
These related activities constitute a tighter focus to the project’s initial six areas of investigation into
enabling more agile and diverse curriculum design: speed of study; non-standard start and finish dates;
course level admissions; validation & review; self-service interface; library of academic models.
UG-Flex’s priorities can now be expressed in a single aim to identify enhancements to systems and
practice that will deliver a high quality learning experience for students following flexible programmes of
study.
