Paul Kidd from PSPV inspection team visited China to evaluate a new student accommodation block under construction for Newcastle University. The block is being built using innovative construction methods that allow parts of the building to be constructed 7500 miles away and deployed on site in a timely manner. UCS Technologies inspected the development last month and were impressed with the quality of work, looking forward to deploying the accommodation blocks so IT installation can begin.

Believe it or not, heavy construction & building sites are not as static as you may think. The new development at
Richardson Road, Newcastle, comes with many challenges. None more than timescales. But because of new
innovative ways of construction these days kier construction, the main developers on the site have come up with a
design which has allowed the construction of the building to be carried out over 7500 miles away and deployed
onto the site in a timely fashion.
UCS Technologies were happy to be part of the inspection team last month to take an initial look at the
development and advice of the IT pathways and cable routes. We were all impressed with the quality & standard of
workmanship and look forward to the deployment of accommodation blocks, so work can get underway on the IT
installation.
