4. The environment plays an important role in human life. With the
development of society, the population is increasing and so the
domestic waste and other human needs are increasing, making the
living environmental pollution become more and more serious.
The plastic contamination problems that are rising as a factor
that seriously affects public health and threatens the sustainable
development goals of many countries including Viet Nam.There
is no denying the convenience that plastic brings to human life.
But But it pollutes the environment.
Educating students about environmental protection awareness
on a national scale is very important for building an active social
force in the field of environmental protection. But at present,
there are very few in-depth studies on environmental education
awareness activities for university students.
1.
INTRODUCTION
a. A rationale for the research
5. Find and give an overview
of the perception of
foreign language
university students on the
issue of plastic waste
recycling.
Raising students'
awareness of the reality
of plastic waste.
Encouraging positive
actions to reduce plastic
waste and its impact on
the environment and
health.
b. Statement of the research aims and objectives
6. If appropriate research, effective solutions to affect the perception of
students of Foreign Languages University will change the awareness and
action on the issue of garbage recycling and environmental protection of
this object compared to before the impact.

RELEVANT LITERATURE.

b. The current status of the topic
c. The relationship between literature
and problem statement
d. Some of the topic's advantages and
disadvantages
8. • Waste:
+ Waste is mainly a by-product of consumer-based
lifestyles that drive much of the world’s economies.
+ Waste is the useless by product of human
activities which physically contains the same
substance that are available in the useful product.
(White et al, 1995)
=>Waste is described as used or unusable
materials that are released into the environment by
humans. Whereas in natural ecosystems, waste
(oxygen, carbon dioxide, and dead organic matter)
is used as food or a reactant, waste materials
resulting from human activities are often highly
resilient and take a long time to decompose.
9. a. Definitions
• Plastic waste, also known as plastic pollution
is defined as “the accumulation of plastic
objects (e.g: plastic bottles and much more) in
the Earth’s environment that adversely affects
wildlife, wildlife habitat, and humans’’.
• Plastic recycling: Plastic recycling refers to
the process of recovering waste or scrap
plastic and reprocessing the materials into
functional and useful products. (LeBlanc,
2020)
10. Plastic waste is a threat to the global environment. Products made
from plastic, although convenient, have negative effects on the
environment and human health
Faced with that situation, students became aware of the importance
of the environment and they started using environmentally friendly
products to reduce plastic waste.
However, on our university campus, plastic is still used everywhere.
Students use a lot of single-use plastic such as styrofoam boxes,
plastic bags, water bottles, and plastic straws at breakfast time,
lunchtime, etc
b. The current status of the topic
11. c. The relationship between literature and
problem statement
There are only a few research papers such as:
“Recycling on making use of plastic waste for
concrete processing as construction materials”
(Ngan Nguyen Vo Chau – Can Tho University,
2017), “Green building ideas – Reuse school
waste” (cuocthidanca, 2022). A number of
programs to reduce the use of non-biodegradable
nylon bags and replace them with environmentally
friendly bags have been launched nationwide;
Some authors have also proposed a community
management model for nylon waste.
Up to now, although there has been systematic
research on recycling plastic waste in schools, it
also has its own drawbacks.
12. d. Some of the topic's advantages
and disadvantages.
Advantages: Disadvantages:
• Everyone is familiar with
environmental issues.
• Raise students' awareness
about the importance of
sorting plastic waste and
how it contributes greatly
to today's living
environment.
• The awareness of
environmental protection has
not yet become every
student's habits and way of
life
• In the university environment,
unfriendly consumer habits
and behaviors are still
prevalent.
14. a. Participants
• The subjects of the topic: awareness of
recycling waste to protect the environment.
• Scope of research of the topic: 200 first-year
students of the English Department – Da Nang
University of Foreign Languages.
15. b. Research question
Question 1:
Current awareness of students of Da Nang
University of Foreign Languages about the problem
of waste recycling on campus.
Question 2:
How do come up with solutions that can change
students' perceptions?
16. Quantitative
Qualitative
A scientific and reasonable
method
Analyze data quickly and
accurately
The high reliability of the
research results
Make the conclusions more
convincing
High flexibility
Research and implementation
time is quite short
c. Research
design
18. Questionnaire
Made in digital form(Google form). It was
designed with the purpose of surveying the
awareness of students about recycling plastic
waste
Easily conduct surveys and collect
statistical data by Google form.
The interface of Google Forms is clear
and easy to use
19.
20. e. Proposed
analysis of data
Quantitative and qualitative methods
Drawing appropriate discussions and
conclusions concerning the study
Assess the current state
of students' awareness
Offer appropriate solutions
to raise students' awareness
22. Survey form:
• Many students still don't take surveys
seriously and fill them out, which results in
inaccurate data.
• Data errors can occur when respondents do
not fully answer all questions.
• Respondents' responses could be unreliable
because they don't remember the issue
clearly or get disinterested in the survey.
• Students who are bashful frequently
decline interviews.
Conduct an interview:
LIMITATIONS
23. Time limits
DELIMITATIONS
• Time set for conducting research is
limited hence the research will be carried
on just a few individuals. Therefore, this
will affect the quality of the data and
research findings
