Dear Review Committee,
It is with great pleasure that I recommend Ms. Tracey Graham for the
Public Health Leadership Seminar in Washington, DC.
Ms. Graham is completing her second year as a local Chapter Advisor.
The first year as an advisor and even more so during her second year, I
was blown away by her enthusiasm, willingness to bring HOSA into
her school and classroom, and ability to motivate and teach. She takes
teaching Health Science to much higher levels by involving her
students in many in-school and out of school activities to learn about
and appreciate healthcare. Ms. Graham does not hesitate to spend
weekends taking her HOSA students to participate in activities which
enhance their learning, and also involve them in community service.
Ms. Graham is the type of person who also jumps in and helps
whenever needed; she has been a great leader in Louisiana HOSA!
In addition, Ms. Graham understands the challenges and needs of
Louisiana, and I am certain she will learn so much more about Public
Health and bring ideas to the table as well as take away ideas to help
her students, community and Louisiana.
I have absolutely no doubt that Ms. Graham will be an inspiration to
others in the seminar and to those in Louisiana when she returns and
shares her experiences. I am sure she will motivate many more to
apply for this experience in the coming years as well. This is a teacher
who is very excited about this possibility and will make the most of
the opportunity. I am looking forward to her being chosen and
bringing knowledge back to Louisiana and sharing at our HOSA
conferences and meetings.
Thank you for considering Ms. Tracey Graham for the Public Health
Leadership Seminar.
Gratefully,
Shirlene Bender
Louisiana HOSA State Advisor
