2. What you need to consider:
• Does it have a GoPro mount?
• Is it strong enough to carry a GoPro camera?
• Is it a safe drone to fly?
• Does it have a gimbal?
• How long is the flight time?
3. Does it have a GoPro mount?
Some drones like the DJI Phantom 2
Quadcopter with Zenmuse H3-3D
Gimbal is perfectly adapted to use
with a GoPro camera. It comes with
a gimbal included for smooth video.
Others like the Parrot AR Drone does
not have a GoPro mount, so you
have to buy that yourself, or create
one.
4. Is it strong enough to carry a GoPro camera?
Most of the cheaper drones, and the mini
drones, do not have the power to lift off and
fly carrying both a GoPro camera and a
mount. Make sure that the drone is strong
enough.
5. Is it a safe drone to fly?
It is a good idea to make sure that the
quadcopter you are interested in has a
good safety record and good safety
functions. It would suck to crash your
500 dollar camera with a 50 dollar
drone. Look for a drone with ”return
to home” function, so that the drone
will automatically return home if you
run out of fuel, or something
unexpected happens.
6. Does it have a gimbal?
A gimbal will keep the camera
completely straight even if the wind
blows or the drone moves. That is very
important when you are shooting
video, and you will just not get very
good video without it. If you only take
pictures it is not very important.
