3. Preliminary task
 This is the front
cover for my
preliminary task that
I made.
 Looking back, it
seems very plain and
with boring fonts and
colours.

5.  It was the same really
with contents page.
 Everything seemed
too straight forward,
formal, tidy and
boring.

6.  I have learnt that you need to take into
account who the target audience will be,
and design the magazine to how they
would want it to be.
 You shouldn’t use the same colours and
fonts over and over as it could get
repetitive. Obviously a magazine can have
a house style, but over-using
colours/fonts gets boring easily.

7.  I’ve also learnt that making the magazine
should not be rushed, and that you should
make a few drafts before rushing into
making the final product.
 Trying different colours, fonts and styles
and seeing what appeals more.
 It’s also very helpful to create a focus
group and get advice and constructive
criticism from the members to help
improve the magazine.

8.  I found it so much easier and got a lot better
results by using different programmes to
create the magazine, not just one.
 For the preliminary task I only used Microsoft
publisher, but recently I have learned to use
a wiser range of programmes including Prezi
and Photoshop.
 I believe it’s by using these different
programmes, and other factors that i’ve
mentioned, that I have been able to make a
lot better magazine than I did in my
preliminary task.
