• A product that has a set of values associated
making the product easily recognizable.
• This will be done through the symbol/logo of the
artist, and advertising campaigns for album
releases.
• To have good branding means there needs to be
consistency in the theme.
• It is important for artist to have a brand image as
it helps distinguish themselves and create a loyal
fan base.
3. Promotional Campaigns?
• A promotional campaign is where the advertising
for the artist will take place, the campaign can
include:
• Posters, adverts, billboards, TV appearances,
radio interviews etc.
• The reason that is important there is consistency
is because it will help the audience identify with
the artist. If there was no consistency the artist
would not be recognized.
4. Chance the Rapper
• Chance the Rapper is an up and coming rap artist, his
brand image is his face with bright colours behind.
In his first album cover Acid Rap he
identified his brand image and this
has been consistent throughout his
various albums.
Chance has not changed his image
and has managed to gather a large
following of fans who are loyal and
buy his merch, which also has a
consistent theme.

• All of the images on the previous slides demonstrate
Chance the Rappers brand image. The merchandise
all carry the same theme with the typography and
the style. The posters are also of the same style
consisting of his face and that is about it. His album
covers also represent his image, they are all similar
and provide the audience with easily recognizable
content.
8. Importance and Summary…
• Branding within the music industry is one of the
most important steps because it can effectively
make an artist but also gives them an identity
and an audience.
• Considering these points, when constructing our
own digipak we will have take into account,
similar conventions that genres have. This will
enable to us to really target an audience who
would like the content and associate with the
aritst.
