PROFILE:
I am a highly motivated and determined student ready to take on new challenges. A person
who is enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative to overcome problems efficiently, and
also someone who is able to work as part of a team effectively to provide excellent service.
First-class communication and organisational skills, provide me with the will and
determination to succeed.
MAJOR ACHEIVEMENTS:
I consider my coaching of the Stanley Rangers under 7s and 8s a major achievement
in my life. I amworking towards my level 1 coaching award for rugby league which will
enable me to broaden my skills and pass on my knowledge and skills of the sport to
the youngsters more effectively.
I have received my gold Duke of Edinburgh award. This was completed over the
summer of 2014. It helped me to work more effectively as part of a team and improve
my communication and become a better, more well-rounded leader and team
member.
I am a member of my local BP Scout troop – The First Yorkshire BP Scout Group. I am
now invested as a‘Rover’. This allows me to teach scouting activities to younger scouts
so they can progress within the scouting world.
Through my scouting, I hold the highest award available to scouts; the Saint George’s
award. I have achieved this through completing various tasks and phases of learning
throughout my life as a scout. In order to achieve the award, it requires large amounts
of commitment, time and dedication to activities in order to gain the required
knowledge and skills for the award.
WORK EXPERIENCE
I have so far completed three weeks’ worth of work experience at The Harris Partnership
Architects in Wakefield learning new skills and gaining knowledge of the aspects of work and
architecture in general. Also I have learnt how to use CAD (Computer Aided Design) programs
such as AutoCAD and Google sketch up.
Over the summer of 2014 I participated in a work shadowing week with BAM Construction,
learning the role of a Site manager, Senior Site Manager and Project Manager. During the
2. week I gained a valuable insight into the requirements of the various roles as well as how to
deal communicate effectively with other professionals and contracting organisations within
the construction industry. It is this communication which is key to improving the efficiency of
the construction phase.
EXPERIENCE
I currently work in The North Face store in Newcastle as a sales assistant. This role requires
me to apply my product knowledge to the customer’s needs and requirements of the
products, explaining the benefits of the product and how they will benefit from purchasing
the product when conducting different activities such as hiking, skiing, mountaineering and
mountain athletics.
Whilst studying at university I have worked as a labourer for Sekeas. The work I was assisting
with linked directly into my university course, learning about new housing construction and
housing refurbishment/renovations.
I was a Crew Member at Fat Face, Leeds between October 2013 and September 2015. This
was a customer orientated role, dealing with product queries and general customer service
and product advice on adaily basis. This work involved the sale, return and exchanges of items
and as well as dealing with any problems with the products; working out the best solution for
the customer making sure they received high quality customer experience.
