The characteristic's displayed from the rock genre that are prominent in the video would be
things such as the frequent use of shots of the band playing with the close up shots on the
drums as the tempo of the music changes. The rock genre has a link to the meaning of the
music “afterlife” in a sense that most rock songs are about rebellion, death or the negative
side of life rather than positive influence.

• The style of the song is mostly performance based although the song progresses through
in the notion of moving on through time like a narrative but the visual use of shots of the
band and less about progressive scenarios make it more like a narrative in the story
sense.

the lyrics become more about breaking free
