Our third class activity was when we watch a group study video on racism/prejudice
called “Angry Eyes.” The video was about a group study where a bunch of people with blue
eyes were brought into a classroom where they were told to treat the people coming in who had
green as lower than them. The idea was that blue eyed people were better than green eyed
people. The teacher belittled the green eyed people for any and every mistake they made. Some
of the green eyed people eventually started crying or got really angry because they believed they
were being treated unfairly. One girl even ended up leaving in tears. The point was to show
how upsetting it can be to be discriminated against for something even as simple as eye color. I
found myself interested and being made aware of just how bad discrimination can be even in
today’s day and age.
