Good Morning everyone
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
Good morning everyone from Coventry
from 844 459 537 to All Participants:
Morning all!
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
Good morning - how is everyone this morning?
from 844 459 537 to All Participants:
Good thanks Dom! You? This is Leigh btw, it's giving me a number for some reason!
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
Hi Leigh 844 :)
from 844 459 537 to All Participants:
It's kind of ironic considering the topic - I am a name, not a number! LOL :-)
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
haha are you a robot?
from 844 459 537 to All Participants:
I'm sorry Dominic, I don't understand the question ;-)
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
Do you dream of electronic sheep? :)
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
i am an electronic sheep :P
from Janet Wildman to All Participants:
Looking forward to the session today and really thought provoking slides!
from Kate Pound to All Participants:
Morning all, I'm joining from Nottingham today
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
I am Walsall, Birmingham
from Kev Wyke to All Participants:
Morning all, so glad you can join Claire and myself...if you want to catch us on twitter
we are @haighclaire and @kevwyke
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
Morning all from a surprisingly sunny Coventry!
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
Glad to have you both
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
looking forward to knowing more about the social age
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
its interesting how we are learning from other sectors
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
I love the name of the organisation
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
2. *choose your own boss* that is an interesting concept
from Janet Wildman to All Participants:
No managers! What! Love this emphasis on energy, choice and equality.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@janet - does this make you more responsible?
from Kate Pound to All Participants:
You can get a free download of the Happy Manifesto http://www.happy.co.uk/about-
happy/free-publications/
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@kate thanks
from Janet Wildman to All Participants:
Yes I think it challenges us to bring our authentic self to work and explore what this
means. Really adding value.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@janet
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@janet - yes
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
Passion for WD-40 ?
from Pete Miles to All Participants:
Will it stick?
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
help grease the wheels
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
i love that idea of making lasting memories
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
haha banter
from Chiara Hendry to All Participants:
I'm currently obsessed with Buurtzog - well worth looking into if not looked into
before.
from Louise Price to All Participants:
Me too! It seems we have a bespoke model based on Buurtzog just being trialled in
our locality. The result of lots of seed setting.
from 844 459 537 to All Participants:
Yes - Leigh
from bev jervis to All Participants:
love the ideas, however.... these organisations don't have governing bodies and
structures such as CCG and CQC that do not trust....
from Rosanna Hunt to All Participants:
Where could this kind of change start in the NHS? The top? The Edge? HR
departments?
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Panelists:
@ben yes this is where i am interested in how we do this in a traditional institution
where trust and accountability is key
3. from bev jervis to All Participants:
i think you will get buy in from front line staff it is the structures that will struggle...
from Kate Pound to All Participants:
http://seasaltlearning.com/ link to Julian Stood
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Panelists:
@Rosanna @Bev i am seeing people wanting to co-produce new organisations that
still have accountability and transparency but how its run internally is different
from bev jervis to All Participants:
I think the system needs changing, it puts so many barriers
from Kev Wyke to All Participants:
Trust and accountability are still parts of all orgs I mentioned...just it is not solely held
by a small group of "leaders" but is distributed more evenly throughout orgs.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
"sharing communities"
from Kev Wyke to All Participants:
@bev Yep, the political environment is a challenge...Buurtzorg manage it in a
similarly politicised system, the CEO talks about the bravery needed to fight 'against'
those systems
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
Great book - i have just read - David Burkus - "under new managment" which
discuss modern work
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@kev and @bev - i think we need brave strong leaders
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
bring your authentic self - something that Jeremy Scrivens really make the point on
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@claire we talked about the word old power and feels more like traditional power ?
from Kev Wyke to All Participants:
@dom @bev Yep, plus high levels of imagination and high levels of obsession
from bev jervis to All Participants:
i know many brave and strong leaders and it is very hard, the organisation i work for
challenges all the time we have made small advances but continually come up
against teh the political agenda, as a profession we are constantly struck don by our
governing body, have imagination and obsession in spades!
from bev jervis to All Participants:
good point claire..... the nmc keeping information recently!
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
"network the networks" - Claire
from Kev Wyke to All Participants:
@bev agree, this isn't easy and the system seems to actively fight us...
from Louise Price to All Participants:
The resilience needed from strong brave leaders is immense to be able to cope with
the continual dynamic tension.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
4. @louise this is true
from bev jervis to All Participants:
they do! my intention is to infiltrate the system! @kev
from Pete Miles to All Participants:
Seems to me that trust levels are very low, will need to be rebuilt...(ideally starting at
the top)
from bev jervis to All Participants:
@louise, this is the importance of this is why we need connection to support each
other!
from Lynne Bowers to All Participants:
Love 'infiltrate the system' - change it from the inside. There are good people :)
from bev jervis to All Participants:
what is the twitter @
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Panelists:
@lynne - yes that really resonated with me too
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Panelists:
@theEdgeNHS
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
@theEdgeNHS
from Pete Miles to All Participants:
Note with 'Wisdom of Crowds' there are some preconditions, otherwise can get very
negative Groupthink effects
from bev jervis to All Participants:
No fault insurance!
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
boaty mcboatface is a good example of fantastic engagement from a group but
without being channelled effectively
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
wow
from Jo Johnson to All Participants:
We have to be mindful with our language and not to alienate people with
assumptions that if you are in a certain age group that you are not up for change etc.
Bravery and resilience transcends being defined by your age.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
sounds a bit like i think amazon that pays people who want to leave to leave
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@jo - yes i think age is not part of it - digital for example is a mindset
from Lynne Bowers to All Participants:
Honour noble human behaviour
from bev jervis to All Participants:
love that! @lynne
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
@lynne love it@
from Jo Johnson to All Participants:
5. Yes, also mindset not toolset.
from @DomCushnan (Chair) to All Participants:
yes - these platforms etc are just tools - but you need the mindset and (i think
resilience)
from bev jervis to All Participants:
we are starting the revolution!
