Surprise ending! I started with the concept of the visual resume and began the quest of detailing my career path. During the course of constructing the Powerpoint a tornado of events occurred creating an unusual ending.

3. I was in high school when my grade school imploded due to a tornado.

4. The tornado made me want to get out of town, and go . . . to college

5. I auditioned for a music scholarship. I was a top finalist!

7. Someone else won.

8. After two years at Clark, Linfield offered an academic scholarship.

9. Linfield’s scholarship also sent me to Europe.

10. My parents paid to keep me there FOR A YEAR!

11. I attended the University of Vienna. I studied at the University of Vienna.

13. I visited over a dozen countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Luxemburg, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, and The Netherlands

14. Back at Linfield, I performed a senior recital, wrote a German thesis, and graduated cum laude!

15. But, could I get a job?

16. All part time. Yes, several.

17. So, I went into advertising.

19. I broke sales records, and the retail manager recruited me to his department

20. I tore through the county like a tornado, and sold $20 million of advertising.

21. That took several years. I won many awards.

22. Then I got promoted.

26. I was so happy I judged a contest for ONPA. (I begged my friends to stop me from ever judging a contest again).

27. I thanked my community with lots of volunteer hours.

36. Downtown loves me.I organized the contest that created the street sign toppers.

37. Downtown tells me everything.

39. I write, too. I’m on my third novel.

40. I’m a Willamette Writers member and volunteer. VP at MGM

41. I gather local authors for downtown’s Art in the Heart event.

42. I also was the FEATURED speaker! I emcee the Vancouver Writer’s Mixer.

43. I brainstorm with the PR firm for the new library on promoting the grand opening.

44. I tested a social media campaign for my birthday event.

45. That made me a top finalist for a Pacific Northwest SoMe Award (Air New Zealand, Travelocity won)

46. In my excitement, I mistakenly sent out 300 invites to people who barely knew me to ‘link in.’

47. I now have 300 LinkedIn connections. a

48. One called me.

49. He was a headhunter.

50. I thought I’d practice my interview skills.

51. I called a friend for a reference.

52. He offered me a job.
