RESPONSE,
da"<ar*"t &i
But Christiana's heard
olentv from others since
ire went to EgIeY with the
alleAations, including two
nhone calls detailing how
bick called the informant
she made the statements
to in which she rePortedlY
chastised him for telling
oeoole about their con-
versation, Christiana said.
On MaY 2, Christiana
heard about the initial
conversation between
Bick and the man, who
Christiana said is a Public
sector emPloYee, but
whom he still won't
identifv.
"Thr-ee seParate indi-
viduals have come to me
about the statements
Randi made," he said.
The substance ofthe
conversation Bick had
with the informant was
that ifcertain PeoPle
didn't contribute more to
Egtey's camPaign theY.
wouldn't be doing bust-
ness with the countY'
Christiana said.
"That conversation is
what got back to me from
three-people," he said'
"I tliinlithe exposure of
the behavior is the first
step." he said.
ihristiana said he went
to EgleY with the informa-
tion aft-er he sPent a week
verifying it.
"Itwas mY hoPe that
Sandie would conduct
that investigation," he
. said.
I It doesn't aPPear as if
that's haPPened.
oistricfAttorneY David
Lozier said his office
hasn't been contacted and
nothing has been filed to
compel an investigation
from his office.
"Right now, rvhat we
have is hearsay," Lozier
said. "Until someone has
some facts to move for-
ward, I can't investigate
anything."
Fiting a criminal com-
olaint is a likelY future
itep, Christiana said.
Such a comPlaint could
be filed with the district
attorney's office, the state
Attorney General's office
or the FBI, he said.
"Those authorities have
the legal caPabilitY to do
interviews ... and to
ultimatetY look at sched-
uling decisions made bY
Randi Bick. correlating
them with camPaign
contributions and re-
ouests for camPaign
contributions, emails, text
messages... to uncover
(that) there is a PaY-to-
play scheme that's gone
on for the last five
months."
No one has alleged the
scheme involved the
commissioners
themselves.
"No one has directlY or
indirectly imPlied that
Chairwoman EgleY or
(Commissioner Dan)
Camp or (Commissioner)
Tonv Amadio (has) been a
part of Randi's behavior,"
bhristiana said. "I contin-
ue to think and trust that
Sandie has no Part in this,
but that will onlY be
substantiated bY the law
enforcement agencies."
Bick is the Person who
should name the infor-
mant, Christiana said.
"Randi knows who she
made the statements to'''
Christiana said. "She
called the gentleman
Fridav night and she's the
best Person to rer-eal rvho
she made these state
ments to. Randi could
release to Sandie and the
press and the Public who
she made these state
ments to or else she
wouldn't have called the
Derson after rePorts
iurfaced about (the)
statements.
"Informants don't want
the publicitY or conse-
ouences of coming for-
ward. but theY feel
compelled to make Peo-
nle (aware) of the behav-
ior so the behavior's
exoosed. It's common
nrictice io Protect those
informants until law
enforcement has an
opportunitY to sPeak with
them privatelY," he said.
Christiana had hoped
that EsleY would "get to
the bottoin of it" after he
told her about the situa-
tion by starting her own
internal investigation.
"If that investigation is
onlv asking Randi about
heiinvolvement and her
(Bick's) denial, if that is
the conclusion, that I feel
is woefullY inadequate,"
Christiana said.
He brought the issue to
Iisht to hold all elected
oflcials accountable for
their integritl'. he said.
"I'm not going to srveeP
this undertle rug."
Christiana said. "If a
thorougtt inve stigatio n
hasn't been conducted'
I'll go to an1'Iengths to get
an investigation."
If the allegations Pmve
to be unfounded "at least
