4. Statement of the problem
• This study intended to find out the factors affecting the study habits
of undergraduates. It also aimed to answer the following questions:
• 1) What is the profile of the respondents according to:
Time management
Learning Skills
Study Skills
• 2) What extent of influence did the independent variables have on
student study habits?
• 3) Did the independent variables significantly influence students
study habits?
5. Research Objective
The main aim of the study is to be able to identify the effects of
internet usage to the college community or culture. It aims to
determine if such connection or interaction has any positive or
negative impact to the latter.
• Through this study, the following objectives will be completed:
• To conduct a survey on several students within a specific colleges
who are active user of internet.
• To conduct a survey on teachers who are teaching in a college where
students have 100% access to internet.
• To be able to assess and analyze the impact of internet access a
among students on the progress of learning and the environment
within the school.
• To identify the patterns and reasons of internet usage among college
students.
6. Research Questions
• What are the positive and negative effects of internet
access to Colleges in Lucknow?
• Does Internet affects the learning progress of
students within these Colleges?
• How do the teachers view internet usage culture?
Do they think it can help in the creation of a better
learning environment?
• What are the usage pattern of students in college?
• Do they think it's just a waste of time?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of
internet usage within the college?
7. Hypothesis
Null Hypothesis
• Based on the three specific problems which are of concern of
this research, problem 1 is hypothesis-free. For problems 2
and 3 however, the following null hypotheses were stated.
• Ho1: The independent variables do not significantly influence
the studyhabits.
• Ho2: Time management, Learning skills and study skills do
not have a significant influence on study habits
8. Methodology
• The study will be exploratory in nature as it will
try to investigate relationships among two
variables. A survey method will be used to collect
the data. On the other hand, the latest SPSS
software will be used to analyze the data.
9. Significance
• The researchers believes that students, particularly will
be benefited from the findings of this study since the study
provides basis for awareness about the pattern of internet
usage and better understanding of how their current internet
habits affected their academic performance. Likewise gives
them a more focused and clear perspective on how the specific
behaviours related to their studies influenced study habits.
Consequently, this awareness also gives a much deeper
understanding of their selves as students considering that the
college life is typically beset of developmental adjustment
demands.
