about their urban agriculture movement and help
us give back to our community.
City Farm Chicago is a non-profit organization that
provides education about the environment. The
Resource Center is located in the city of Chicago
and focuses on sustaining Chicago through
recycling, urban farming, composting and other
programs. Through these programs it tries to
improve the quality of life for those within the
community.

Join us as we kick off our week-long series of events
promoting peace in our community. The night will
include a speaker & musical performance. Light
refreshments will be served.
We are honored to present Robert Koehler as our
peace conference speaker for the night. Robert is an
award winning “peace journalist.” Robert has been
an editor for the Tribune Media Services since 1995,
and has also written for the Huffington Post,
Common Dreams, OpEd News and TruthOut. His
topics on the “nature of peace” have led him to
become known as a “peace journalist.” Today he will
be speaking on the topic of restorative justice.

Peace Film Screening

HI Chicago will show a poignant film & facilitate
discussion around peace in our world.

Ted Weissberg, the founder and president of
Redefining Our World Cypher a performing
arts organization that facilitates educational
programming through performing arts and

Ollie Hoodraise, a spoken word artist from the
West side of Chicago, uses his words to
change the minds of today's youth. A member
of 3BM and host his own set At Ease Sundays
in Oak Park every first Sunday of the month.
Peter Keller, also known as Esaun, has been a
community activist for over 20 years in the
City of Chicago. He is the founder and
president of United Nations One Legion
(ULON) an organization dedicated to helping
reduce the recidivism rate and stopping the

Vagabond Maurice, a native of Minneapolis,
focuses on work that contextualizes nerd
mythology over break beats and jazz
atmospheric tracks. Vagabond is a teaching
artist and emcee representing the multi-genre
collective known as ONSOL. His music has
been featured in The Chicago Sun-Times and

Annual Chicago Jazz Festival.
6. Peace within Self
Tuesday 9/22 11:30am – 12:30pm
Mediation combines the energy of thought and
breath to calm the mind. Yoga combines breath
work, stretches and yoga poses in order to create
harmony within the mind, body and spirit. Yoga and
meditation is to help calm the mind and give a new
refreshed feeling from the stress. Yoga and
Meditation have been proven to increase attention
span, improve metabolism and a good night sleep
and keep you felling stress free.
The Peace School's mission is to help people of all ages practice
peace in everyday life. By attaining peace in mind, body and spirit, we
create the foundation for a broader peace in our families, schools,
communities, nations and world. Our unique blend of meditation,
exercise and peace breathing help us achieve this.

Hull-House Museum
Wednesday 9/23

Tour the historic Jane Addams Hull House Museum
& learn about Chicago’s history of pioneering social
change. Join us for lunch following the tour.
Jane Addams Hull House Museum holds a rich
history on how peace was made within the Hull
House immigrant community and how Jane Addams
made this peace come about. Jane Addams was the
first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace
Prices for her contribution to the immigrant
population in the Hull House. She sacrificed her time
to teach new immigrants about the American
culture and language. She also taught immigrant
children in order to allow immigrant parents to work
their day jobs.
