didn’t stop us. Today, lots of people share our

81. template origination
Tapestry develop and host templates for a variety of disciplines.
In the retail sector we manage ticketing and POS artwork using in
house template designers to drive cost efficiencies and accuracy in
our artwork production.
In the entertainment sector of gaming and film we use these skills in
further complexity to manage multi language artwork, for software &
hardware, creating greater consistency for not only ourselves but third
parties around the world via our hosted sites.
84. workflow automation
Tapestry uses a wide range of technology to automate as much of the
production process as possible, leaving skilled operators to concentrate
on more complex and creative tasks.
PDF creation, preflight, file conversion and delivery are all automatically
handled using Dalim TWiST technology. Job tickets are created within
Symphony Job Book which are then embedded into InDesign, Illustrator
and Photoshop files as XMP information. This information is then used
to power the TWiST workflow with no operator intervention.
Symphony Job Book also includes many sophisticated automation tools
based on AppleScript. An example is the Symphony Workflow and
Actions. Tapestry administrators can quickly create workflows to
automatically create artworks from templates, replacing text, placing
images and resizing elements. Alternatively, in an image workflow, a
collection of master images can generate multiple sizes and formats.

89. 164
Tapestry has built an unrivalled reputation in the fine art and
Photographic market.
Our team bring traditional dark room skills to state of the art technology.
This and our devotion to detail lead some of the worlds leading
photographers and galleries to trust us with their images.
Our Lambda and Giclée prints are used by photographers
and galleries throughout the world.
Our Mimaki CJV30-160 print & cut solution provides us with even more
potential and flexibility to produce an array of vibrant, long lasting and
high quality print products.
90. giclée prints
The word Giclée ("g-clay"), is derived from the French verb gicler
meaning "to squirt or spray", Giclée, is used to describe a fine art digital
printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival
quality paper to achieve Giclée prints of superior archival quality, light
fastness and stability. Our Giclée prints are capable of producing an
extremely wide tonal range and colour gamut.
The Giclée printing process involves squirting or spraying microscopic
dots of pigment-based ink onto high quality art paper or canvas. The
image is colour corrected to attain the closest possible match to the
original work if required. The digital information is fine tuned to the type
of paper or surface on which the image is to be printed, further ensuring
fidelity to the original.
Giclées prints are printed on a variety of substrates or mediums, the
most common being cotton rag, Canvas or Baryta paper. Cotton rag or
‘Watercolour’ Giclée paper has been popular for many years of Giclée
printing. These fibrous papers transform a photograph into a painterly,
soft image that adds a classy, decorative feel making it perfect for
everything from portfolios to art prints for exhibitions. Baryta paper, also
described as ‘Fibre Based’, has been popular as a traditional paper for
black and white printing for many decades.
91. lambda prints
The Durst Lambda was one of the first ever laser printers to produce
Digital C Types. The technology uses a continuous roll to roll single
beam, 3-laser (RGB) exposure system which means that you can make
prints up to any length, with a width of up to 50”.
The combination of size flexibility and image quality has made the
Lambda a staple of the best photographic labs across the world. How
does it work? In a similar vein to the Lightjet, digital information is
exposed directly onto conventional photographic media. Linear writing
speed is superfast: up to 65 cm per minute with a choice of 200 and 400
ppi (equal to an apparent resolution of 4000 dpi)resolutions. The
Lambda produces images with the highest possible resolution (68 billion
colours!)
92. mimaki prints
Solvent printing is the default for many sign graphics around the world.
With excellent outdoor durability and great colour gamut, Mimaki’s range
of solvent printing enhances production capabilities to the maximum. Its
range of substrates allows us to print to a wide variety of formats. These
include outdoor signage/billboards, interior decoration, point of sale,
window vinyls and labels to name but a few.
The additional benefit of this latest technology is that we can print
quality graphics and laser die-cut, to the highest quality, in a single pass.
This saves the need for separate offline finishing, creating time
efficiencies.
93. digimura wallcovering
Digimura is a unique digital wallcovering that has been manufactured to
the highest of industry standards and specifically developed and
optimised for large-format digital print. We are able to print straight to
the Digimura substrate from our Mimaki digital printer.
Unlike any other product, Digimura both meets and supersedes industry
regulations!
Digimura is a remarkably straight-forward product that is as durable as it
is flexible, and is changing the way you think about dressing a public or
commercial space with digital imagery.
103. 164
window graphics
Contra Vision is a see-through window substrate, designed for use in
advertisements, signs, or decorative designs. The level of transparency
that contra vision allows maintains a view out and daylight in to any
window. Contra vision panels are based on transparent plastic one way
window films or rigid sheets. They have a design or colour on one side
that is not visible from the other side, which typically provides a clear,
tinted view through the panel.
At Tapestry we use this for graphic installations such as vehicle
wrapping, window covering and informative panels.
It is a very powerful media to use on an area most seen by the passing
public and with a quality installation maximizes your advertising space.
104. 164
installation & finishing
As a complete Production agency we have the unique ability to see a
project through from initial concept to printed installation on-site. With a
vast array of printing materials to use on your windows, we can advise
and mock-up any images, campaign or design to meet your
expectations with a complete finishing service. This can be project
managed in advance at retouching/artwork stage, and finished with
our own specialist in-house staff carrying out the final installation.
