Isolation Ball valves
A ball valve is a form of quarter-
turn valve which uses a hollow,
perforated and pivoting ball to control
flow through it. It is open when the
ball's hole is in line with the flow and
closed when it is pivoted 90-degrees
by the valve handle. The handle lies
flat in alignment with the flow when
open, and is perpendicular to it when
closed, making for easy visual
confirmation of the valve's status.
Flowjet make Ball valves are durable,
performing well after many cycles, and
reliable, closing securely even after
long periods of disuse. These qualities
make them an excellent choice for
shutoff and control applications, where
they are often preferred
to gate and globe valves, but they lack
their fine control in throttling
applications.

Air, gaseous, and liquid applications

Isolation Gate Valves
The distinct feature of Flowjet gate valve is the
sealing surfaces between the gate and seats
are planar, so gate valves are often used when
a straight-line flow of fluid and minimum
restriction is desired. The gate faces can be
parallel, but are most commonly wedge-
shaped. Gate valves are primarily used to
permit or prevent the flow of liquids, but typical
gate valves shouldn't be used for regulating
flow, unless they are specifically designed for
that purpose. Flowjet has developed a wide
variety of Gate Valves.
Advantages:
They have good shutoff characteristics.
They are bidirectional.
The pressure loss through the valve is
minimal.
Applications:
Socket or butt-welding end-gate valves in air,
fuel gas, feed water, steam, lube oil, and other
systems are typical applications. Threaded-
end gate valves may be used in air, gaseous,
or liquid systems. Concern for leakage from
threaded connection can be addressed by seal
welding the threaded connection or by using
thread sealants, as appropriate. In low-
pressure and low-temperature systems such
as fire protection systems’ water piping or
water distribution pipelines, flanged gate
valves are commonly used.

Globe Valves
A globe valve, different from
ball valve, is a type of valve used
for regulating flow in a pipeline,
consisting of a movable disk-type
element and a stationary ring seat
in a generally spherical body.
In globe valves, the plug is
connected to a stem which is
operated by screw action using a
hand wheel in manual valves.

Check Valves (NRV)
Allows flow in one direction and
automatically prevents back flow
(reverse flow) when fluid in the line
reverses direction. They are one of
the few self-automated valves that
do not require assistance to open
and close. Check valves are
designed to pass flow in one
direction with minimum resistance
and to prevent reverse or back flow
with minimal leakage. The principal
types of check valves used are the
tee-pattern lift check, the swing
check, the tilting-disc check.

BUTTERFLY VALVES
A butterfly valve is a shut-off valve
with a relatively simple construction. In
closed position, the disc blocks the
valve bore while in open position, the
disc is turned to allow flow. A quarter
turn takes the valve from fully open to
fully closed position, or opposite, and
thus the butterfly valve allows for
quick opening and closure.
Butterfly valves can be used for a
broad range of applications within
water supply, wastewater treatment,
fire protection and gas supply, in the
chemical and oil industries, in fuel
handling systems, power generation
etc. Some of the advantages for this
type of valve are the simple
construction not taking up too much
space, and the light weight and lower
cost compared to other valve designs.
The valves can be operated by
handles, gears or actuators according
to any specific need.

Y-Strainers are devices for
mechanically removing unwanted
solids from liquid, gas or steam
lines by means of a perforated or
wire mesh straining element. They
are used in pipelines to protect
pumps, meters, control valves,
steam traps, regulators and other
process equipment.
APPLICATION:
A strainer is used to protect other
downstream equipment (e.g.,
pumps, instrumentation) from
damage by rogue junk. A filter is
employed to separate particles from

Pressure-reducing regulators control
outlet pressure by balancing an
adjustable spring force against the
forces caused by inlet and outlet
pressures. The spring force is
adjusted by turning the stem/handle,
which sets the desired outlet pressure.
As inlet pressure decreases, the force
balance changes. To compensate,
outlet pressure will increase. This
supply-pressure effect (SPE) is a
function of the design and type of
regulator. If a regulator is subjected to
fluctuating inlet pressure, and outlet
pressure variations are not desirable,
a two-stage regulator is available.
