What We Do
3. Libra's President and Chief Executive Officer, Tamla Y. Tymus, has the knowledge
and experience to address your needs. Prior to returning to North
Carolina, Tamla served as a Senior Staffer on the U.S. House of Representatives
Committee on Homeland Security, including serving as the Subcommittee
Director and General Counsel for the Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations
and Management.
In that role, Tamla was the primary Democrat staffer responsible for overseeing
the administrative and management functions of the third largest federal agency
in the United States. She conducted oversight of all Department of Homeland
Security functions, including government contracts and procurements, human
capital, financial management, security clearances, and the carrying out of DHS
and Federal homeland security strategies in addition to conducting
investigations and oversight over a broad range of matters from counter-
terrorism, information sharing, cybersecurity, aviation security and border
security to the use of drones in the National airspace, State and local fusion
centers, and emergency management and response.
Tamla has an in-depth knowledge of homeland security matters and how to get
things done in Congress. She brings this "inside the beltway" knowledge to Libra
Consulting and the individuals, companies and governments it serves.
