- Good morning! Ladies and gentleman, Welcome to my presentation.
- I'm (name) from japan. And our company provides IT platform like Uber. Anyway, It seems like we have a lovely weather today. But in the Philippines, as far as I know this month is still part of the rainy season. Do you like rain? Most people don’t like rain because of flood which can be caused by stock garbage.
- Despite this problem, Do you know you can make money out of garbage, and at the same time, reduce flood? This might be your chance to save the environment and save money. So I’ll talk about “money in garbage”
- This presentation has 3 objectives. 1st : to inform you about the importance of garbage 2nd : to recommend investing in this platform “matching system for garbage” 3rd: to reduce flood in the Philippines.
- <OUTLINE> I’ve divided my talk into 4 sections. First, I want to give you some background regarding the connection of garbage and flood in the Philippines. 2nd, We will move on to 2 examples of selling garbage. 3rd, I’ll speak about proposing a new system. Finally, we will look at the estimated profit for this system. The presentation will take about 10 minutes. If you have any question, I’d be glad to take them at the end of my presentation. Let’s begin.
- I heard that foreigners and Filipinos tend to leave garbage anywhere in this country. If it rains heavily, that garbage will be stack to the river or canal and as the result flood happens. I heard it happens in someplaces in the Philippines. We’ll try to solve this by an amazing way. How?
- If you can sell garbage, what will you do? Let me show you 2 examples.
- First 1 is, My community’s case. Aside from the fact that our city official provided service of picking up our garbage every day. In my community’s case, we formed a group about 10 years ago in which some people collect garbage with our own truck personally. This happens every once in 2 weeks. And this community sell garbage to recycle maker and get money which can be used for some events like summer festival. Last year we collected 1.5 million pesos from 2000 families. Can you believe it?
- Next case is my dad’s case. My dad runs a company. And he collect milk package and melt chemically. Then he sell to the milk maker to recycle it. We can sell garbage like this. Do you believe it?
- YES !! Garbage create money. YOU shouldn’t waste this chance to make money.
- Here is my platform idea. As you see, we can sell garbage. But we don’t have time to go to selling place. On the other hand, we want to buy garbage and sell at a higher rate. We want to communicate with people who want to sell and buy garbage. So we propose matching platform for ・the people who want to sell garbage ・the people who want to buy garbage That’s out idea. Look at it more specifically.
- We use smartphone or other fixed device like button. If we want to sell garbage, we press the button, GPS or pre registerd address is sent to the platform. And for the people who want to buy the garbage, see the map provided by this platform and search people nearby. And buyer can go there. I think taxi drive is one of the most suitable people who can move around the city and collect and buy garbage.
- Overall picture is as follows: If the people who buy the garbage finish to sell to the recycle maker, they get money. Then these people pay 10% fee to the platform. This is the platform I’ll propose today. You can see that you are getting rich, aren’t you? There are 4 groups of people who can benefit from this. 1st are the sellers 2nd buyers 3rd city officials who spend less in picking up garbage Lastly platform providers. This 4 groups of people will successfully earn money.
- Market size is as follows: As you can see, this is a huge market.
- This is our profit plan. And this graph illustrates horizontal line showing time line after launching the service, and vertical line shows profit in numbers. As you can see starting 1.1 years is not profitable. Because we only get small percentage of the market. We estimate 0.01 % for 1st year. But 3 years later, we’ll get 5% of the market. So, we can start to get profit after 1.1 year. And then our profit will get higher and higher. This is our profit plan.
- To sum up with our today’s talk, We talk about 1) Matching platform for people who want to sell and buy garbage. 2) We believe this will reduce flood in the Philippines. 3) Our platform will be profitable in ONLY 1.1 years. Remember that you can save the environment and you can save money.
