2. GREEN SCREEN
Before we could do the effect we need the green screen of the
actress walking out to make the portal look more believable so we
have two LEDS and what we have to do is make her walk out so
the red distinguishes and makes it look like that she has stepped
out of the portal.
3. BACKGROUND
What I had done was take a picture (still image) and put it into the
background to make it look like that the background is actually
there and then when it switches to the next shot it shows the
woman walking and turning around now that is the video.
4. MATTE
So once we put in the video we have to then make it that the blue
is gone and we only see the middle then we can put it into the
background image and so we can also then put the actress
walking so it looks like she just came out of it.
5. COLOUR KEY
We used color key to adjust the background for when we place
the video in the back and when we start to to blend it into the
background. I had to change the settings and testing around
before I got the right tolerance and the key color.
6. PROCAMP
This was for the portal so the brightness of it and the contrast and hue it had me
tinkering before I found the right one and the reason for this is because when I changed
saturation then I have to balance that contrast and then hue and brightness to get it
right.
7. ALPHA GLOW
What I had done was after I put everything together I had to make it so the portal had a
glow to it and the glow is the on the outside and the is the gold/yellow aura. And the
brightness to make it look like that it is actually fits in, and that the color and the
brightness is all balance with the rest of the short film.
8. VIDEO EFFECTS(IMAGE)
What happened here was as you can tell was that when I put the image in place what It
did was position it so it fits right in and that we don’t see a black background and that it
actually fits the video. The other thing that matters was the was if the image fit
accurately and if the video was stretched in any way.
9. RESULT
The end result that we get after doing all the
putting the image in and chrome keying it in
creating the circle fixing it with portal and
then putting the actor there and we actually
make it look like she is standing there.
