2. GROWING FORWARD 2
• Growing Forward 2 (GF2) is a comprehensive federal-
provincial-territorial agreement aimed at encouraging
innovation, competitiveness and market development in
Canada's agri-food and agri-products sector.
• GF2 builds on the successes of Growing Forward and
the Agricultural Policy Framework.
4. ORGANIZATIONS
• not-for-profit, Ontario-based, legally recognized entity,
involved in the agriculture, agri-food and agri-based
products sector capable of entering into a contract,
including, but not limited to associations, marketing
boards, aboriginal groups
• membership comprised primarily of Ontario residents
5. COLLABORATIONS
• combinations of:
• non-profit associations/organizations; and/or
• academic/research institutions in the agriculture, agri-food, agri-
products sector, primarily located in Ontario; and/or
• two or more legal for-profit businesses
• encouraged to include an organization
• must demonstrate benefit beyond the collaboration
members
• members must have an arms length relationship from
one another
6. CAPACITY BUILDING
• skills development and training
• assessments, audits and plans
• applicants are encouraged to undertake capacity building
activities in advance of applying for project
implementation funding
7. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
• broad program design
• implementation of plans, applied research projects
• projects deemed innovative are eligible for higher cost
share funding

• Enter into an agreement with the AAC

reimbursement funding
• Ensure project results are shared broadly
