It is one of eleven districts in and around ShanghaiThe district consists of 146 schools serving a population one million people. The total population in Shanghai is eighteen million.A school was originally built on this sight in 1904 and was known as the Hua Tong Public School, however it has been renamed and modernized in recent years.The stated aim of the school is ‘Optional Education, Overall Learning, Outstanding Development’

6. Both George Abbot School and Jinyuan have link schools all over the world, and both consider the Global Dimension as an essential part of students’ education

20. Jinyuan is very proud of it’s history and traditions, and these are celebrated in a very modern way. In the twenty first century the students and staff work extremely hard at school, but the staff are keen for students to remember that the lighter side of life is very important too, as in this picture of staff on a day out!
