3. What is Habitat for Humanity?
A nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that
believes that every man, woman and child
should have a decent, safe and affordable
place to live.
We build and repair houses all over the
world using volunteer labor and donations.
4. Why Volunteer?
I have always
wanted to make an
impact in people’s
lives, be involved in
my community, and
meet new people.
This organization is
perfect for that!
This volunteer work
takes
leadership, labor
skills, compassion, a
nd dedication!
I’ve been involved
for years, my peers
are always coming
up to me for help.
Why do you volunteer for this
organization? What duties do you perform?

time

7. What has volunteer work helped
you learn about yourself?
I am a natural-born leader
Makes me thankful for what I have; I
never take anything for granted
I will always lend a helping hand!
8. Her favorite volunteer story to
share!
“There was a family in need of a home, and we
were building one for, they had a teenage
daughter who was very unhappy; she grew up
practically homeless and had very low self
esteem. I would take off early from building the
home and just hang out with her and even took
her shopping. When the house was finished, she
came up to me and said I was the reason she is
finally happy with her life. To me, happiness is the
best thing to have, and I am so glad I got to help
her come out of her depression.”
9. Volunteering in my life
Something with
animals! I love
animals and a lot of
them are in need.
I always get my
friends and family to
come out to help
during building
projects; it’s our
favorite way to
spend time together!
If you could volunteer for any
other organization what would
it be?
How do you juggle
volunteering with your
personal life?
10. Social Issues
“Today’s biggest social problem I care the
most about is overcrowding in poor living
conditions. There are so many people out
there who share a home with many other
people where it is usually dirty and run-
down. It is not a good place to raise
children and you could get easily sick.
Home is where the heart is, it shouldn’t be
a place that you’re not happy about.”
