This document describes a scrum coaching model called Exepedia for organizational transformations. It details a case study of a large company that spent $15 million over 2 years hiring Agile coaches but saw limited success because the coaches focused only on transitioning teams to scrum while the underlying leadership culture remained unchanged. The Exepedia model aims to transform both teams and the overall culture through modules that create shared definitions, raise awareness of Agile benefits, measure outcomes, and help unlearn old mindsets and relearn new ones to foster an open, collaborative culture.
2. A True Story..
IN THE END, A TREMENDOUS WASTE
• Multi billion dollar
enterprise
• Large Agile
transformation
• Hired a consulting
organisation
• 10 Agile coaches on
staff augment mode
• Coaches Ramped up
from zero to 150 Scrum
Teams in a year
• Coaches success was
on how many teams
are ramped up
• Coach rate: $1200/ day
• Client rate: $2500/day
• Cost for 2 years: $15 M
• Per team cost: $100,000
• While the teams had
been assimilated,
the organisation’s
leadership style
remained the same.
• And the overall
culture remained
the same
