What is Generation Gap?
A generation gap or generational
gap, is a difference of opinions
between one generation and ano-
ther regarding beliefs, politics, or
values. In today's usage, "genera-
tion gap" often refers to a perceiv
ed gap between younger people
and their parents and/or grandpar
ents.

How many years is a generation gap
In general we think of a generation being about
25 years - from the birth of a parent to the birth
of a child. We also generally accept that the length
of a generation in earlier periods of history was
closer to 20 years when humans mated younger
and life expectancies were shorter.
6. What Generations Exist
The four generations that could be present are the
following:
I. Traditionalist(born before 1946)
II. Baby Boomers(born between 1946 and 1964)
III. Generation X(born between 1964 and 1970s)
IV. Generation Y(born between 1970 and 1994)
V. Millennial- A person reaching young adulthood
around the year 2000.

Reasons for Generation Gap
Parents do not treat their kids as their age.

Unnecessary worry of the parents about their kids.

It's natural that we often feel closer to distant generations t
han to the generation immediately preceding us.
It is due to the western culture.
It is due to the busy parents.
It is due to the lack of education.

As teens grow up they experience conflict and adopt
values different from those held by their parents and
develops unfavorable attitude toward the adults.
The teenage is closely connected to making important
life decision, like career path.
Difficulties in relationship with parents may lead to suc
h serious problems as drinking alcohol or drug abuse.
Decrease in social values overtime.

Parents should develop ethical value system.
Parents should become ideal.
Parents should give them time.
Don’t make extra expectations.
Watch them about their society.
Don’t criticize at their failure.
Parents should try to mix with
contemporary culture.

Neither parents or children are alone responsible.
Spend time with each other as more as possible.
This happens due to change of generation.
Parents should be aware about their children.
This can be decreased by little compromise of both.
Values- a set of ideas that guide an individual on how to evaluate right versus wrong
Beliefs- a set of doctrines, statements or experiences a person holds as true, usually with evidence or proof.
Both are deeply intertwined because beliefs influence how an individual develops
1.Traditionlist-practical always at work, loyal and hardworking, rule follower, respectful of authority.
2.Baby boomers-optimistic, teamwork and cooperation, ambitious.
3.Generation X-confident and independent, risk taking, balance work and life.
4.Generation Y-hopefully, moral mindset, globally connected, technology savvy.
5. Millennial-a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000.
Lifestyle-the way in which a person lives.
Personalities-the combination of characteristics or qualities that form an individual's distinctive character.
