Its product range comprises milk, milk powder, health beverages, ghee, butter, cheese, Pizza cheese, Ice-cream, Paneer, chocolates, and traditional Indian sweets, etc
GCMMF is India's largest exporter of Dairy Products. It has been accorded a "Trading House“ status
Many of AMUL products are available in the USA, Gulf Countries, Singapore, The Philippines, Japan, China and Australia
GCMMF has received the APEDA Award from Government of India for Excellence in Dairy Product Exports for the last 16 years
The Amul Model of dairy development is a three-tiered structure with the dairy cooperative societies at the village level federated under a milk union at the district level and a federation of member unions at the state level.

2. The Birth of Amul
• It all began when milk became a symbol of protest
• Founded in 1946 to stop the exploitation by middlemen
• Inspired by the freedom movement

• “Father of White Revolution” or “Dudhwala of India”
• Dr. Verghese Kurien was born on November 26, 1921 at Kozhikode ,Kerala
• Founder Chairman of National Dairy Development Board from 1965 to 1998,
the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd, from 1973 to 2006
and the Institute of Rural Management from 1979 to 2006

4. • Vallabhbhai Patel was born into a farmer family on October 31, 1875, in
Nadiad, Kheda District, Gujarat, India.
• Sardar Patel’s first major participation was during the Kheda Struggle.
• Sardar Patel, who had advocated farmers’ co-operatives as early as
1942, reiterated his advice that they should market their milk through a
cooperative society of their own.

5. • Founder Chairman of Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., Anand
• Shri Tribhuvandas K Patel was born on 22nd October 1903 in Anand, Kheda District,
Gujarat, India.
• Shri Tribhuvandas Patel successfully led farmers against the unfair trade practices of
traders of Polson and Polson Dairy and established Kaira District Co-operative Milk
Producers’ Union Limited on 14th December 1946 which is today known as “Amul”.
