MUDRA is extended form of the English letters ‘MICRO-S DEVOLOPMENT AND
REFINANCING AGENCY’. Its kannadaization is ‘ party unit development and
refinancing agency’. Under the central government ‘s “JANADHANA YOJANA “ the
central government implemented the mudra scheme on April 2015. The
objective of the Mudra scheme to enable business development by providing
adequate capital to micro industrial units . Small scale and micro business
enterprises are often unable to raise sufficient amounts of loan due to lack of
credit from banks and financial institutions . From there they collect loans from
local moneylenders do not work on behalf of micro and small business
organizations . Such scarcity is believer to have led to the implementation of the
mudra name scheme
3. OBJECTIVES OF MUDRA YOJANA
The objectives of mudra scheme are as follows
Formulation of policy guidelines relating to financing of small or
micro enterprises.
Registering and regulating micro financial entites and their
associated institutions .
Remembrance of financial facilities to small business and micro
business units,
To provide self employment to all unskilled groups and encourage
them contribute to construction,
4. Helping and guiding small and micro business units to get loans easily .
To provide priority in lending to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and backward
class
Engaged in trading , manufacturing and service business regulating financial
institutions.
Expending the business scope of small and micro enterprises.
5. TYPES OF MUDRA LOANS
There are 3 types of mudra loans. Loans are categorized on the bassis of loan amount
following are the popular types of mudra loans.
Shishu: loans of 50,000 in this scheme will be given up to Rs.
Kishore: in this scheme , loans will be given from 50,000 rupees to 5,000000
rupees.
Tarun: in this scheme , loans will be given from 50001 rupees to 10,00,000 rupees.
6. Considering the growth and financial requirement of the beneficiary business
organizations, the loan schemes are classified as SISU, KISHORE And TARUN . At the
initial stage , the entrepreneur will be given a loan of up to 50,0000 rupees . After
some growth and the business continues, the unit will be eligible for next level lion
scheme ‘ Kishore in the third phase, a loan up to 10,00,000 rupees in given this is
Tarun Yojana . At this stage the entrepreneur has the power to conduct the business

7. SECTORS COVERED UNDER MUDRA SEHEME
The following business organizations are eligible for financial assistance under the
mudra scheme.
1. Road transport sector or activity (Land transport sector or activity) in this activity,
financial assistance is provided to the following business
a) To purchase a freight vehicle
b) Passenger transport auto rickshaw, to purchase
c) To purchase a small goods transport vehicle ,
d) To buy a tricycle
e) To purchase e- rickshaw, passenger e- vehicle, car, taxi, ect.
8. COMMUNITY , SOCIAL AND PERSONAL SERVICE ACTIVITE
Under this scheme , financial assistance well be provided for the following activities
a) Salon and beauty parlor businesses
b) Tailoring shops, dry cleaning TDP, Xerox, Korean agency Centers.
c) Vehicle Repair service centers
d) Drug stores
9. FOOD PRODUCER SERVICES
Financial assistance provided for the following services.
a) Preparation of dates
b) Preparation of jam, jelly
c) Preparation and distribution of sweets
d) Small services food outlets
e) Breakfast / ready meal/ lunch supply service
f) Services of refrigerators
g) Ice cream making
10. TEXTILE SECTOR
Manufacture of handloom items
Zari, zadozi work for designing garments
Conventional dyeing and dyeing
Design of ornaments
Knitting or needlework
Removal of cotton yam
Computerized embroidery work, stitching work
Manufacturing of bags , auto parts, furniture parts
11. HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Following is the procedure to avail financial assistance under mudra scheme step
to be carried out :
a) Proof of identity : self – attested electoral identity voucher/ driving license/ pan/
Aadhaar/passport
b) identity card issued by government authorities.
12. Proof of residence:
Latest landline pay receipt/ electricity pay/ receipt / property/ tax pay receipt
Voter ID CARD/ Aadhaar card / passport/ bank passbook/ proof of residence
(recently issued by city council/ municipality)
Recent photographs of the applicant
Quotation of machinery or other equipments to be purchased
Name and full address of the organization supplying the machinery and
equipment intended for purchase
Supplier’s identity –supplier’s address, license letters
Category – scheduled caste/ scheduled tribe/ other backward caste etc.
