Best Practice Guidelines for Aquatic Facilities
Who? Class “C” Pools - pools intended for use for
apartments, condominiums, property owners associations,
multi-family owned pools, etc. and are covered within the
scope of this standard. Pools operated solely for an in
conjunction with lodgings such as hotels and motels are also
covered within the scope of this standard.

Best Practice Guidelines for Aquatic Facilities
The Seal of Safer Pool Practices utilizes the
concepts of the Safer 3, a comprehensive initiative
by the Safer 3 Water Safety Foundation aimed at
dramatically reducing drowning and aquatic related
injuries: Safer Water, Safer Patrons, Safer Response

After participants application has been submitted and
approved, the NDPA recommends an IPSSA
(Independent Pool & Spa Association)
representative visit your site to help you meet the
Seal of Approval guidelines
• A Seal of Approval Certificate valid for two years
