solutions for all industries. This includes innovative products in the area of safety relays, interlocking, monitoring,
control and power electronics.
Mr. Sumit Jain worked in the company from 1 1 . January to 31 . August 2016 as a master student. ln this period of
time he successfully has written his master thesis in our company. The goal of his master thesis is a PC software
tool managing an universal database for safety related values of components or parts of control system. The PC
software provides a graphical user interface for entering and managing database records. The main goal is an
export interface to XML according to VDMA standard 66413. The database is designed in a way that new items
can be added quite easily.
The PC software is written fully in C/C++ and uses the graphicalframework of Qt. For that purpose Mr. Sumit
Jain defined and designed the database structure on a Microsoft SQL server and the graphical user interfaces in
Qt. He developed the corresponding C/C++ classes for database, graphical user interface communication and
export functions in XML. Under this circumstances Sumit Jain got additional basic knowledge regarding safety
related values according to IEC/EN 61508.

viewing Mr. Sumit Jain professional development of the past half year, and we can state with confidence that he is
