I am delighted to have this opportunity to provide a letter in support of the application of Suenne
Dixon to your organization. I am a masters prepared oncology nurse with 38 years experience
in clinical oncology nursing and nursing education. Presently I am a volunteer at The American
Red Cross and Suenne Dixon is our client services coordinator and my supervisor. I have
worked under Suenne for the past year which gives me license to confidently and accurately
address Suenne's strengths and attributes.
On a personal level, Suenne is approachable, personable and has excellent communication
skills. Suenne is responsible for training and supervising a large group of volunteers of various
ages and professional backgrounds. Suenne is comfortable with a wide range of age groups
and is patient when training an ever changing group of volunteers. She is willing to do anything,
teach anyone and she motivates us with her consistent positive attitude and enthusiasm.
On a professional level, I have watched Suenne work in high stress situations when our group
of American Red Cross volunteers respond to natural disasters. She consistently exhibits the
skill set to change priorities quickly and delegate duties accordingly. She identifies problems
and develops solutions. Suenne understands the skill sets of her volunteers and assigns them
to appropriate positions. Suenne is our leader in times of crisis and we trust her and look to her
for leadership.
On a business level, I have seen Suenne streamline and standardize our volunteer office work.
Her organizational skills are evident in the standardized guidelines she has developed for a
variety of complex jobs the volunteers must complete efficiently and accurately. Our volunteer
office is transitioning from a paper system to an electronic system and Suenne has been
instrumental in implementing these changes. She is a constant resource to all of us.
Suenne is an outstanding candidate and I give her my highest recommendation.
