3. 1979
I was born in Ohio.
But we moved to Florida so dad could live the
American dream of being a country-western musician.
I didn’t quite follow the same path.

4. I went to the University of Central Florida for journalism
While in school I worked at the Orlando
Sentinel as a web producer.
I learned a lot about how content is
produced on a news website …
… and how to make slideshows. A lot
of slideshows.

5. 2008
I moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, where it
gets very, very cold …
… to work for Minnesota Public Radio
as a web producer for online news.

6. At MPR, I’ve planned and produced online coverage for …

… winter blizzards …
… election recounts and
everything in between.

8. 2010 I was promoted to Associate Editor for Online News at MPR.
In this role I set the tone and layout of the MPR
News homepage as the morning editor.
I also plan coverage for the
day, lead special projects and
edit and package radio stories
for the web.

9. As an online journalist, I’ve used social media and Internet platforms to
enhance news coverage in the ever-changing media landscape.
And every day brings another tool to learn or story to tell…
