Our History
C3 Projects was established in South Africa in 1995 to provide services
to the mining, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and power
generation sectors.
In 1998 an International office was setup in Dublin, Republic of Ireland,
to support the infrastructure development and the global mining market.

13. Client: Vedanta – Lisheen Mine
Services: Project management, risk and cost management
services and sale of assets.
Location: Lisheen Mines, Tipperary, Republic of Ireland
The Lisheen mine has been in operation since 1999 with a
planned closure date of 2015. As part of the Environmental
Protection Licence (IPCL) a comprehensive mine closure
plan has been put in place and a detailed closure estimate of
costs was developed to support the value of performance
bonds. A tailings dam extension was also constructed for the
deposition of tailings which gave an additional 2 years life to
the mine ensuring the mine fully exhausted the mineral
resource.

Location: Richards Bay, Kwazulu, South Africa
Richards Bay Minerals carries out mining operations from floating
mining plants, constructed in-situ in the sands dunes, in an
environmentally sensitive area. The ponds are excavated and pontoons
built to support the storage and concentrator vessels. The mining
plants included the pontoon construction, structures, platework, piping
and electrical and instrumentation works.
15. Navoi Gold Mine

Services: Cost management - contract

Location: Navoi Mine, Uzbekistan
Navoi Gold Mine was developing a new in pit crushing plant and
conveyor system to extract the ore from the pit to the treatment plant.
A detailed cost estimate was developed to support the contract
negotiations with a major international design, build and finance
contractor. Following extensive negotiations the contract was signed
significantly below the original offer value.

Location: Richards Bay – Alusaf Smelter Plant
The Alusaf aluminum plant civil works tenders were issued to the
tendering civil works contractors as lump sum tender documents without
bills of quantities. The contractors made a joint appointment for the
preparation of detailed BOQ’s to minimize the cost of tendering for each of
the companies on this major civil engineering project. The cost of
preparation of the documents was borne by the successful contractor.
