HOW DID YOU USE MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AND
RESEARCH, PLANNING AND EVALUATION STAGES?
2. EMAZE
• I used emaze to show the
conventions of a music video, here
are a few screen shots of that.
• I also used emaze in my research of
digipak analysis. I analyzed Selena
Gomez’s went through each section
of the digipak and talked about what
makes it a successful one.
3. PREZI
• I used Prezi for my research on a
R&B/Pop album, Rihanna was my
first example. I went through each
part of her digipak and analyzed it to
see if it met the conventions.
4. PADLET
• I have used Padlet for my
Performance, Narrative and Concept
music video research. For this I
researched the definition of each
type and gave an example for each
one. I used google to find the
definitions for everything I didn’t
know i.e. the conventions of a music
video, digipak and poster.
5. SLIDESHARE
• I used slideshare a lot for my
research one was for analyzing three
different music videos of my choice, I
chose Taylor Swift – You Belong with
Me, Amy Winehouse – Rehab and
John Legend – All of Me.
6. YOUTUBE
• I have used YouTube a lot for this whole
course, I have used it to show examples of
various genre music videos.
• I used YouTube to upload the various video
clips I was going to and wasn’t going to use.
• This was to show a few examples of
R&B/Pop music videos that would help me
get the best out of my video and see what is
included in them so I can develop the ideas
and put them into my video.
• I have used it to show the original music
video of my choice of song. I decided to use
Good for You – Selena Gomez ft. A$AP
Rocky. I chose this song because it is one of
my favourites.
7. • I like the idea of having someone
featuring at the end of the video too.
I had a person in mind to play this
part and he fit the role perfectly. This
is the original video compared to my
own and my featuring artist.
8. • My artist was the perfect fit for the
song, she portrayed the sexual
atmosphere through her facial
expression and the close ups used in
the video, this is the original video
compared to my own. I have used
similar camera shots and angles and
my artist also has the seductive
expression on her face.
9. DIGITAL CAMERA
• The camera I used for my videoing and
taking the pictures for my digipak was
a Canon 1100D.
• I used my mobile phone to take the
images of the set up. I also used my
mobile phone to film the pool scene of
my video. The camera wouldn’t work
because the area was too steamed up
so I used my iPhone 7 video camera.
Also used my Apple MacBook to edit
all of my video as it has iMovie on it.
And this was the set up.
10. IMOVIE
• I used iMovie on my Apple MacBook
to edit my music video. I used the
effects on some clips, I cut videos so
the lip syncing would fit in with the
song. I used the tools along the top
to change a clip to slow motion and I
also could split a clip so that one half
was at a normal pace and the other
at a slower pace.
11. PHOTOSHOP
• I used Adobe Photoshop to edit my
whole digipak and poster. I used this
program because it made it easy to
edit the images on a separate tab and
then transfer them onto the digipak
where I could use the same fonts,
colours and copying each thing over to
a different section of the digipak, that
way I would keep a consistent style
throughout. Here are a few screenshots
of my editing process.
• I also used Photoshop to create the
record label design.
12. ISCANNER
• I have used iScanner to transfer images of a piece
of paper onto my computer as a digital copy. It is
an app on my phone and I take a picture of a
sheet of paper and it automatically changes it
into a digital version on my screen. I them
emailed it over so I could upload it to my blog.
For example, this was originally on my computer.
• As you can see it made the image look
professional and neat and made the edges black
and sharp. I used iScanner to upload the feedback
comments and declarations I received on paper,
this made it easier to show them in a neat
professional way on my blog.
And this was what iScanner changed it into.
13. MICROSOFT WORD
• I have used Microsoft Word for a lot
of my research and planning. I used it
for my Schedules, time tables, risk
assessments, questionnaires, creating
my declarations for my artists and
showing the song lyrics and breaking
it down, planning that is going to be
shown in what section of lyrics.
14. BLOGGER
• Finally, I have used Blogger.com
throughout my whole course making
sure everything in the process of my
research, planning and construction of
my music video, digipak and poster. It
has helped me produce a clear
structure for my A2 course and keep
the sections intact. On blogger it allows
you to see each post you have
uploaded and gives you the option to
edit it even when it has already
uploaded.
